MARTIN SCORSESE’S THE FILM FOUNDATION LAUNCHES “RESTORATION SCREENING ROOM”
WITH ITS INAUGURAL FILM “I KNOW WHERE I’M GOING!”
ON MONDAY, MAY 9TH

The Film Foundation, the non-profit organization created in 1990 by Martin Scorsese, has launched The Film Foundation Restoration Screening Room showcasing films restored with support from the foundation and its partners. The Film Foundation Restoration Screening Room is online and available free of charge starting today, Monday, May 9th, with additional feature presentations debuting on the second Monday of each month.

To register, please visit film-foundation.org/restoration-screening-room

Viewers will experience the excitement of a live event, with introductions and conversations with filmmakers and archivists providing an inside look at the restoration process. The Film Foundation Restoration Screening Room is “appointment viewing” with screenings starting at a set time and only available for a limited period, which distinguishes it from other streaming options. The Film Foundation Restoration Screening Room celebrates the collaborative nature of film preservation by highlighting the work of archives and studios, and exhibiting a broad range of restorations, including classic, avant-garde, independent, documentary, silent and short films from every era, genre, and region of the world.

The first presentation of The Film Foundation Restoration Screening Room is I KNOW WHERE I’M GOING! (1945, directed by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger), restored by The Film Foundation and BFI National Archive, in association with ITV and Park Circus, and available for a 24 hour window. The classic romance will be introduced by Scorsese, and tonight’s program includes interviews with Thelma Schoonmaker Powell, Joanna Hogg, Tilda Swinton, and Kevin Macdonald; all of whom count the film among their favorites.

The Film Foundation partnered with Oracle and DelphiQuest to create and power The Film Foundation Restoration Screening Room platform. Upcoming monthly presentations will include LA STRADA (1954, d. Federico Fellini), KUMMATTY (India, 1979, d. G. Aravindan), a film noir double feature of DETOUR (1945, d. Edgar G. Ulmer) and THE CHASE (1946, d. Arthur D. Ripley), SAMBIZANGA (Angola, 1972, d. Sarah Maldoror), ONE-EYED JACKS (1961, d. Marlon Brando), MOULIN ROUGE (1952, d. John Huston), LOST LOST LOST (1976, d. Jonas Mekas), and others to be announced.

I made a new video BUT I'm not going to release it. I was obviously exhausted in it. I'm going to rest up and to give it another try later. The recipe, Save-the-Town Brownies, can be found in the Deck The Hallmark Podcast book, "I'll Be Home for Christmas Movies," which was written by them and Alonso Duralde from Linoleum Knife podcast. The brownies were recently featured on Good Morning America! I think peppermint and chocolate go great together all year. Besides how pretty they look on a serving tray, one of the great things about this recipe is that you're not stuck to peppermint. Think about what flavors pair well with chocolate! You can use orange extract and a couple drops of orange food coloring in the filling and top the brownies with Halloween-themed sprinkles, use raspberry extract (keep the pink color) and top with dried/fresh raspberries, or use coconut extract (no food color) and top with a mix of sweetened and toasted coconut flakes. There are MANY possibilities! The recipe takes me about 3 hours, including the waiting times. Let me know what you do! I've been tagged in a few social media posts from people who tried the recipe themselves, and I'm SO proud of y'all! They're great for any time of the year. I hope you try them and enjoy them!

I know they’ve spoke about this on the pod before, but can anyone tell me some recs for good films on Ovid.tv? Slow cinema or foreign films preferred. I wanna make a list I saw Days this year and I remember Dave said some of the filmmaker's films are on ovid but i cant remember which
Ho Ho Ho Hooray to dear friend Alonso Duralde (Linoleum Knife podcast) on the release of his incredibly cozy book, "I'll Be Home for Christmas Movies: The Deck the Hallmark Podcast’s Guide to Your Holiday TV Obsession"! Hello...just watched Miss Sloane for the first time the other night. I am sure you reviewed it when it came out, but how do track down your archives? Cheers!
This a out of left field question but does anybody remember the podcast episode where Dave said he loves a treacherous gay? I know it's a weird question but was watching something and it reminded me of it. Thanks
Paging Alonso. There's something special in this just for you. 🤣
