WHO WE ARE

Through the Heart is led by husband and wife team Steven & Vanessa Miller. The couple fittingly met in Hollywood in 2009. Their love of all things cinema was an instant connection. One of their first dates was the Final Destination 5 premiere. Developing a plan to work together in the film business took a brief hold when the couple had their first of two babies.

In the meantime, Steven’s feature film debut was purchased by Dimension Films and over the course of the next decade he dominated the indie film space. Directing 12 feature films in just under ten years for studios like Lionsgate, Dimension Films, Anchor Bay, and Saban. His list of genre credits ranged from horror to thriller to action and everything in-between. He worked with major stars including Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, John Cusack, Nicolas Cage, Aaron Eckhart, and Dave Bautista.

Not to let raising two kids slow her down, Vanessa began creating exciting social marketing campaigns that coincided with Steven’s film releases. Vanessa’s ability to have a pulse with the social trends allowed her to become one of the most valuable assets to building Steven’s film brand. As the brand became bigger, so did Steven’s love for editing. Over the course of his directing career, his passion for editing grew and quickly became a regular side hustle.

Teaming up with smart indie studios like Dark Sky Films, Epic Pictures, XYZ, and The Solution Group, Steven was able to build up an impressive resume of trailers in-between directing his features. This is when the couple realized their dream of working together on a bigger scale was ready to become a reality.
