Eos World Fund is very excited to announce that the film we helped preserve — auteur Nina Menkes’ “QUEEN OF DIAMONDS” has has been selected for the NATIONAL FILM REGISTRY!!!!!

I’m so extremely thrilled that QUEEN OF DIAMONDS, starring Tinka Menkes, has been selected for the National Film Registry. This film was shot on 35mm for a minuscule budget of $65k. When planning the film, I decided to use a “real” casino, to place Tinka- a directed actress- in
a documentary environment. Everyone told me- 'you cant do that’.I also decided to shoot the film myself (as my own DoP), on 35mm, everyone told me- 'you cant do that'. The central 17 minute dealing sequence, the film’s cinematic core and a radical editing decision--everyone told me: ' you cant do that'. So, dear friends, if you have a deep feeling inside, that you know is true, also known as a vocation, please don’t be misled by majority voices- who might not be right, after all."
