Can anyone identify what’s going on? This has literally being going on all night and morning! I would get a video so that I could share with you EXACTLY what it is I’m witnessing, but she runs to me, clearly frightened, and of course I’m Mama Bear so I’m going to protect my cub!

She’ll be sleeping peacefully and suddenly awaken soundening like she’s gasping for air and snorting at the same time. My previous shih tzu would randomly have these attacks too, but would occur sometimes after drinking water. I feel like it may be somehow related to their flat muzzles, but I have no veterinary background. Can anyone ? I don’t like seeing her suffer! All I can think to do, aside from hold her and try to comfort and soothe her until it passes, is give her breaths. I’ve blown into both her nose and mouth simultaneously the last few times this has happened now, and I’m not sure if it’s actually helping or if it’s coincidental, but Aerie has immediately stopped having whatever attacks these are as soon as I do that. I feel like maybe her airway gets blocked somehow and I’m giving her but not finding how anything could just suddenly obstruct her airway out of nowhere when she’s totally fine, sleeping peacefully and didn’t even fall asleep with a chewing object nearby. With this major mess I’ve been dealing with in a toxic relationship and now awaiting the move-in date of my OWN apartment (and still trying to seek some income!!), I’m hoping to avoid another major bill with the to find out what’s going on and I’m sure others out there have experienced this same thing with their dog and hopefully they’ll respond to this post and share their story, information, and links to any resources with me! Things have been tragic and traumatic for too long now. It's kept me from being able to upload content regularly (or even upload all the recorded content I do have thus far) and I'm so, so so grateful that I'll be reunited once and for all with Aerie on Wednesday! I still have plenty of challenges to deal with, but I know I'm stronger when Aerie is by my side and, unfortunately, she hasn't been able to be consistently by my side for a long time now.
I will be sharing previously recorded content as I come across them while sorting through all the photos and videos saved to my phone/computer. I'll be sharing new content on a more regular basis now. And after I get some sleep for what's left of the night, I'll share the story of what's happened with you all. Thank you for your patience and continued following during this difficult period. You are essential to us and we love you!
