Twenty years. Every note. Every scar. Every failure. Every victory. Every time I was told to stop, disappear, or give it up; I kept moving forward and now, I can feel it. Something has changed. This isn’t me starting over. Heck no. Everything behind me was the road that brought me here. But I’m turning the page, and for the first time in a long time, it feels like I’m standing at the beginning again; stronger, wiser, and carrying twenty years of fire with me. A new page. A new chapter. A new beginning. The journey of SoundExcape continues…and I’m just getting started.

Nearly 20 years.

Twenty years of writing, recording, creating, learning, rebuilding, and refusing to quit.

Along the way there have been challenges, setbacks, criticism, moments of doubt, and times when support was hard to find. But every obstacle became another reason to keep creating.

Transformation isn’t about changing who you are. It’s about revealing who you’ve been becoming all along.

Looking back over the years, every version of SoundExcape represents another chapter in that journey.

The masks changed.
The stories grew.
The music matured.

Each step built upon the last, leading to the character that exists today.

This isn’t just the story of a mask or a musician. It’s the story of perseverance, creativity, and building a world one note, one image, and one chapter at a time.

And the journey is far from over.

The four XCAPE albums are here.

Nearly twenty years of SoundExcape music has now been brought together across four albums, each representing a different side of the music I’ve created throughout the years.

What was once spread across many different releases now has a home within the XCAPE series.

XCAPE 1 — Rock & Metal
34 instrumental tracks built around riffs, melodies, heavier sounds, and the guitar-driven side of SoundExcape.

XCAPE 2 — Latin, Jazz, Fusion, World & Electronic
35 instrumental tracks exploring rhythm, experimentation, different musical influences, and some of the more unconventional directions I’ve taken.

XCAPE 3 — Piano & Other Instrumentals
31 tracks representing another side of SoundExcape, including piano-driven music and compositions that didn’t belong within the worlds of XCAPE 1 or XCAPE 2.

XCAPE 4 — Collaborations
20 recordings created with other musicians throughout the years. These are the collaborations that became standalone audio recordings, while many other collaborations and musical moments exist in video form.

Together, these four albums aren’t meant to represent one sound or one genre. They’re a look across nearly twenty years of creating, experimenting, changing, collaborating, and continuing to make music.

Some of these songs are older. Some came later. Some sound completely different from the track sitting next to them. That’s part of the point. The XCAPE series isn’t one moment in time. It’s the journey across nearly twenty years of music.

If you’ve listened to SoundExcape before, you may recognize something along the way. If you’re discovering the music for the first time, there are 120 tracks across the four albums to explore.

XCAPE 4 is now available.

This one is different.

XCAPE 4 is the fourth and final album in this Xcape collection, bringing together 20 collaborative recordings created with musicians I’ve had the opportunity to make music with over the years.

SoundExcape has primarily been my own musical journey, but it has never existed entirely in isolation. Along the way, other musicians brought their own sound, style, ideas, and personalities into that journey. Sometimes it was another guitar. Sometimes drums or bass. Sometimes a voice. When those different musical backgrounds came together, we created recordings that couldn’t have existed in quite the same way without everyone involved.

XCAPE 4 features:

These aren’t the only people I’ve collaborated with over the years. There have been many other collaborations, performances, jams, and musical moments captured in video that aren’t represented on this album.

XCAPE 4 specifically represents the collaborations that became pure audio recordings, songs created and recorded as pieces of music in their own right.

That’s part of what makes this album special to me. Every recording represents a particular combination of musicians at a particular point in time. Everyone brought something of their own into the music, and what came out of it was unique to that collaboration.

Some of these recordings go back many years. Bringing them together now gives those moments another opportunity to be heard while recognizing the musicians who helped make them happen.

To Andrew, Bingjamin, Jeff, JSlunk, Minty Fresh, Rene, RiffnWolf, Ryan, Scott, Tim, and Twiggy: thank you for being part of the music and part of the SoundExcape journey.

Featuring 31 instrumental tracks, XCAPE 3 brings together piano-driven pieces and other compositions from nearly twenty years of creating music.

The Xcape journey continues with a completely different side of SoundExcape.

If XCAPE I was the rock and metal side of the journey, XCAPE II takes the Xcape series somewhere entirely different.

Quick XCAPE update… because apparently releasing four albums in order was too much to ask. 😂

The plan was incredibly complicated:

XCAPE 1 → XCAPE 2 → XCAPE 3 → XCAPE 4

You know… counting. 😂

Instead, distribution decided to create its own XCAPE adventure.

XCAPE 2 is live on Spotify. I have a working direct link, it plays perfectly fine, and yet somehow it still doesn’t want to actually show up on my artist page. I’ve submitted the fix, and at this point I’m just going to wait for everything to catch up.

XCAPE 3 decided to have its own adventure after one of the tracks got flagged during distribution. After getting it reviewed, everything was cleared and the album was released as-is.

Meanwhile, XCAPE 4 apparently looked at all of this, shrugged, skipped the line and released without a problem. 🤦‍♂️😂

So currently:

XCAPE 2: “I exist. Here’s my link. Good luck finding me.”
XCAPE 3: “They tried to stop me. I’m here anyway.”
XCAPE 4: “What problems?” 😂

At this point I think the music was too powerful and I made the DistroKid cry.

So if the albums look out of order, you didn’t miss anything. They were intended to roll out 1, 2, 3, 4, but distribution had other plans.

I’m just going to give everything some time to settle and continue introducing the XCAPE albums here in their intended order.

Apparently even distribution needed an XCAPE. 😂

Today marks the return of music I chose to bring back to streaming platforms.

XCAPE I is the first of four albums that will be rereleased over time, each featuring songs from nearly twenty years of creating music that I felt deserved another chance to be heard.
