Next up in our board spotlight series: Mariel Mercedes ✨
Mariel has been a dedicated member of the AFSP Wisconsin Chapter Board since the beginning of this year. Born in the Dominican Republic, Mariel has navigated a 25+ year journey with depression and is a su***de attempt survivor. Her lived experience fuels her passion for this work.
She’s the host of the Best of MKE podcast in Spanish, where she opens up conversations about mental health, su***de prevention, and other important topics for the Latino community.
Mariel joined AFSP because she knows how vital this work is—and is deeply committed to raising awareness in spaces where stigma is still strong.
