P o w e r H o u s e
In May of 2016 I bought my first ever camera (a point and shoot) and started creating videos for fun.
Fast forward 4 years and I’ve just been handed the keys to this beautiful studio tucked away on Bond Street.
Some of you may or may not know but for the past year I have been working on a new digital video production company. It’s one of the main reasons why I’ve not really been present on social media as I once was. (I plan on getting back soon, I swear!)
If you told me 4 years ago that I’d be where I am today I would have laughed and shrugged it off. Don’t get me wrong though it was no easy feat by any means. I’ve poured my blood, sweat and tears into making this dream a reality.
I’ve learned a few lessons in these short 4 years. One being to celebrate and appreciate the wins. In the past I’ve sometimes passively gone by significant milestones without any acknowledgement but it made me realise I was too focused on the future. Since slowing down in lockdown I’ve definitely reflected a lot more and realised how important it is to acknowledge what’s happening now. Hence why I’m writing this post I guess 🤷🏻♂️
Anyway, I know a lot of people are going through some difficult times right now and I hope this can encourage at least one person reading this to keep believing. Luckily my hardest experiences were before the global pandemic, but they were still some seriously tough tests. One of those was less than a year into shooting video, I had all of my camera gear, laptop and hard drives (with all the footage I’d captured) stolen. €4k+ worth of gear. IT. WAS. PAINFUL. It was also an easy excuse to give up but I ploughed on and I’ve found myself here. So keep chipping away. Be patient. It will come...
