Tonight was a great blessing for our family. We hosted a rehearsal dinner in TN for my brother-in-law and his bride to be. We love them so much and enjoyed celebrating with them. We had great food, a sweet video of homemade memories, and a beautiful outdoor “garden” themed dinner under a tent. So much love for the sweetest couple. Thank you to my husband, his family and the Gigers for helping make this shindig great! I loved every minute it pushing my creativity to new limits!
Shoutouts for two things:
First off, we brought the flowers from Carlstedt’s in Monroe, La! I worked with their team to order these flowers wholesale weeks ago and they made the process easy and helped prepare us for an early pickup. They answered all my questions and we only had a couple white roses not make the trip, which is awesome!
Secondly, Butter Bakery in Monroe, La made a wonderful gluten free Lemon Blueberry cake. I ordered it weeks ago and they made it precisely the way I asked, a naked cake with icing and blueberry compote on the side so I could ice and decorate it there. Not only did it survive the trip that Butter said would be the farthest one of their cakes have gone, it was in perfect condition and absolutely beautiful and tasted great when I topped it off with the blueberries. It didn’t even need the extra icing!
Lastly, I ordered a custom, hand painted Bible from Strokes of Faith in Denham Springs. Everyone was asked to highlight their favorite verse and write a note in the margins (its a journaling Bible so plenty of space). She is absolutely talented and the Bible was a hit. It was packaged beautifully and shipped safely. She was so easy to work with and I almost cried when she sent me the final proof. It’s a keepsake for a lifetime.
Planning an event from states away can be difficult, but not when you know the best people who have that southern hospitality and want you to have a successful event. I loved how everything turned out and may get my florist license because that was so much fun! I finished up some boutonnières last night and can’t wait to see our handsome guys wear them at the wedding.
