Day 1 is in the books at the Connecticut BBQ Challenge in Somers, CT—and wow, what a day!
We just wrapped up our first real SCA contest and I have to say: it was an absolute blast! I’m so proud of what we turned in today.
I went all in on my Spam entry (yes, SPAM!)—Polynesian Spam sushi with a homemade dragon sauce and pickled veggies. I thought I was overthinking it, but Chad told me to just keep pushing forward—and it paid off big time! We landed 2nd place, took home an awesome trophy, some cash 💰, and… a GOLDEN TICKET to the SCA World Championship in Texas next year! 🤯🔥
Chad crushed it with his Secret Pizza—homemade sausage, pepperoni, and a generous drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey (thanks to Scott who told us that was “so 2023” 😆). He snagged 3rd place, another badass trophy, and more prize money!
We’re pumped and rolling into Day 2—KCBS 4 meats up next! Let’s gooo! 💪🔥🍖
