The poet John Keats wrote to his two brothers in 1817 defining his term ‘negative capability’ and described it as a space where “a man is capable of being in uncertainties, mysteries, doubts without irritable reaching after fact and reason.”

Todd Lim started these paintings during the COVID-19 lockdown and throughout that year, worked intuitively without a preconceived idea or notion of what the paintings would become. Working with whatever materials and supplies were at hand on the property and in the studio became the limitation; the bounds exceeded only through possible acts of creativity and experimentation, trial and error, meditation, and acceptance.

The City of West Palm Beach’s newest public artwork, Sun Salutations, will be installed by artist Vito di Bari on Friday, October 8, 2021, in Sunset Park, located at 3601 North Australian Avenue. Sun Salutations marks the first public artwork located in the Northshore neighborhood.

Once installed, Sun Salutations will pay homage to the city and its lifestyle. Modern and metallic, the sculpture will feature kinetic elements and a fixed central sun in texturized orange glass, which will generate a captivating sparkle effect when the sun is low. Sun Salutations’ colors were taken from the city logo, and the sculpture will incorporate an embodiment of the palm tree, the water, and the sun depicted in the city seal. Additionally, the artwork’s rings will feature patterns that add to its visual interest while also representing the local natural landscape. Once complete, Sun Salutations will measure 7.5 ft. in height, and the full disc will measure 6.5 ft. in diameter.

The GreenMarket is beginning its 27th season with a national recognition – we were named the #1 farmers market in the U.S. by USA TODAY 10Best, the only Floridian market included in the top 20! The Readers’ Choice poll ranked us in the top spot, defeating markets from nationwide destinations, including Seattle, Boston, and Hawaii. Only a market that is one in a “melon” could accomplish such a challenge.

With the addition of nearly 30 new vendors raising the total vendor count to 100, this will be the largest GreenMarket since its inception almost three decades ago. Head over to our Green Market Vendors page to see a complete list.

We'll see you on Opening Day, Saturday, October 2, 2021!

Market hours are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Free parking is available in the City of West Palm Beach managed Evernia and City Center garages UNTIL NOON, then current parking rates apply. Those interested in arriving by boat can also take advantage of the City's free public docks.

From marveling at art exhibits to patronizing locally owned businesses, there are many ways to celebrate the contributions and influences of the Hispanic and Latinx communities in The Palm Beaches throughout the year — but don’t miss out on these festive and educational events in September and October.

In West Palm Beach, Clematis by Night, the popular Thursday evening concert series, will host a National Hispanic Heritage Month performance featuring Tempo Sonoro Band. On Thursday, Sept.16th from 6 to 9 p.m.,
downtown’s Waterfront Commons will come alive with
the sounds of salsa, son montuno (mountain sound) and Latin jazz performed by this 11-piece ensemble.

They’re one of the best big salsa bands in Florida, so bring your blankets and chairs, grab a drink and a bite to eat, and enjoy the show as the sun sets.
