COOLER TEMPERATURES ON THE WAY FOR SOUTH FLORIDA...

Good Tuesday Morning!!!

Today, scattered rainfall moving west/southwest.

Wednesday, lower rain chances as drier air moves through.

Increasing rainfall Thursday and Friday ahead of a weak cold front.

Behind the front (over the weekend) warm high temperatures, and cool low temperatures in the 60s and low 70s.

MARINE HAZARDS, SOME HEAVY RAINFALL, AND A LOW...

Good Friday Morning.

HIGH SURF ADVISORY (UNTIL MONDAY MORNING)
HIGH RISK FOR RIP CURRENTS (UNTIL MONDAY MORNING)
SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY (UNTIL MONDAY MORNING)

Swells from "Former Hurricane Imelda" combined with gusty easterly winds will continue to create hazardous marine conditions through the weekend.

An area of low pressure is developing east of South Florida and is expected to move northwest over the weekend.

While it is not likely that this low will develop into a storm of any kind, it could still bring in some bands of heavy rainfall that could lead to temporary localized flooding over the next couple of days.

Outside of that possibility, skies will feature a mix of sun and clouds today and Saturday, with scattered showers an a few thunderstorms moving northeast to southwest and east to west.

INCREASING RAINFALL TODAY, TONIGHT, TOMORROW... AND A POTENTIAL LOW.

Good Thursday Afternoon.

This afternoon through tonight, scattered showers and isolated storms moving in from the east coast. Some rainfall could be heavy and some temporary localized flooding is possible.

Friday, scattered to numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms possible. Some rainfall could be heavy and temporary localized flooding is possible.

An area of low pressure may develop near the South Florida east coast tomorrow, and then move northwest across Florida Saturday/Early Sunday. The Hurricane Center has given this potential low a 10% chance for development. Most computer models show a tiny bit of development, but not a developing storm. Regardless, even a weak low could increase our chances for rain from Friday through Saturday.

LESS RAIN, DANGEROUS SURF... MORE RAIN...

Good Wednesday Morning!!

Very dangerous beach and boating conditions continue here in South Florida, thanks to a combination of swells from Imelda and Humberto.

Drier air will lead to less rainfall today, but isolated showers and a few storms are still possible.

Things are shaping up to be wetter as we head into the end of the week and the weekend, with more moisture moving in and a front stalled-out over South Florida.

94L is now Potential Tropical Cyclone #9.
It is expected to become a Tropical Depression tomorrow and Tropical Storm Imelda by Sunday. Then... potentially Hurricane Imelda as it nears Georgia and the Carolinas Monday.
Our area remains outside of the cone, but we could see a few rainbands sweep through our area on Sunday. Then drier air on the way for the beginning of the work week, next week. WPBF 25 News

CHANCES FOR RAIN TODAY AND TOMORROW... AND POSSIBLY SUNDAY...

Good Morning!

Hot and humid today and tomorrow with highs in the low 90s and the heat index in the mid/upper 90s.

Today and tomorrow, we do have a chance for scattered showers and a few thunderstorms drifting east.

94L could send some rainfall our way on Sunday. Please see my earlier post about the tropics.
