The 8:00 AM EDT Atlantic Tropical Weather Outlook has a couple of updates from the overnight package.

The northeastern Atlantic low near the Azores now has a clearer timeline, with any subtropical or tropical development expected to end by Sunday night as it moves toward Portugal and northwestern Spain. Formation odds hold at 20% through both 48 hours and 7 days. Neither system poses a threat to South Florida.

The central subtropical Atlantic system near Bermuda remains disorganized, with a 10% chance through 48 hours and 20% through 7 days, drifting west-southwest through Sunday before turning north early next week.

Tropical Weather Outlook updated at 2:00 AM EDT, and neither of the two areas being watched pose a threat to South Florida.

A new addition in this outlook is a weak low over the central subtropical Atlantic, east-southeast of Bermuda, producing showers and thunderstorms. It has a 10 percent chance of development in 48 hours and 20 percent over the next 7 days, with any development expected to be slow as it drifts west-southwestward through Sunday before turning north early next week.

The northeastern Atlantic low near the Azores remains at 20 percent through both 48 hours and 7 days, with little change from the previous outlook.

Tropical Weather Outlook just issued for the Atlantic basin, and this is not a threat to South Florida.

A few things are different from the last outlook. The 48-hour development odds for a non-tropical low expected to form over the northeastern Atlantic have jumped from near 0 percent to 20 percent, with the system now forecast to potentially acquire subtropical or tropical characteristics by Friday or Saturday as it tracks eastward toward Portugal and northwestern Spain. The 7-day odds remain steady at 20 percent.

A Flood Advisory has been issued for southeastern Okeechobee County, including Okeechobee, Treasure Island, Taylor Creek, and the Okeechobee Airport area. Thunderstorms have already dropped 1 to 3 inches of rain, triggering minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas, with another 1 to 2 inches still expected. If you are in any of those spots, low-lying roads and areas that drain poorly are the main concern right now.

A strong thunderstorm nearly sitting still near The Acreage, about 9 miles north of Wellington, is producing wind gusts up to 45 to 50 mph. A Special Weather Statement has been issued for Okeechobee and Inland Indian River Counties as a strong thunderstorm near Okeechobee is nearly stationary on radar. A Flood Advisory is in effect for Palm Beach County as heavy rainfall from thunderstorms has already dropped 2 to 3 inches across the area, with another 1 to 2 inches still possible. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in low-lying and poorly drained spots, particularly in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, The Acreage, Jupiter Farms, Caloosa, and near North County Airport. If you are traveling through any of these areas, be aware that water may be covering roadways.
