Origin Story - The Digital Camera

There is a powerful lesson hidden in the rise and fall of one of America’s most successful companies. For decades, the Eastman Kodak company dominated photography. In the 1970s, the company controlled nearly the entire film market in America. Their profits were so massive that executives could hardly imagine a future where things would ever change. Business was booming. Success seemed guaranteed. But here is the shocking part: the company that helped invent the future refused to prepare for it.

For most of us, very few of the things we think, believe, or do every day are truly original. We inherit ideas, traditions, habits, and beliefs from parents, teachers, cultures, churches, and generations before us. Some of those things are good and true. Others are incomplete, unhealthy, or simply wrong. Over time, experience has a way of refining what survives. Weak ideas collapse under pressure, while truth proves itself dependable again and again.
