If you get the epidural, you ā€œtook the easy way out.ā€
If you go unmedicated, youā€™re ā€œtrying to prove something.ā€

But hereā€™s the truth no one says loud enough: birth is hard no matter how it happens.

Pain management isnā€™t weakness.
Enduring pain isnā€™t a trophy.
And the goal was never to win birthā€¦ it was to bring a baby into the world safely while keeping mom sane.

Some moms need relief to feel present.
Some moms need movement and control to cope.
Most moms just need support instead of judgment.

Your birth choices donā€™t determine your strength, your love, or the kind of mother youā€™ll be. Theyā€™re just different paths to the same momentā€¦ holding your baby for the first time šŸ¤

Gender reveals are either ā€œso cuteā€ or ā€œso unnecessary,ā€ and somehow thereā€™s no in-between.

Some parents want a moment of joy, celebration, and surpriseā€¦ a memory to look back on.
Others want something quiet, private, or not at all.

Neither is wrong.

What is weird is how comfortable people feel judging how parents celebrate their own baby.

A balloon, a cake, a text message, or finding out at birth. Itā€™s not about the colorā€¦ Itā€™s about the moment you realize this is my child.

Youā€™re allowed to celebrate how you want.
Youā€™re allowed to skip it completely.
And youā€™re allowed to change your mind.

Parenthood starts with enough opinions already.
Let joy look different for different families.

Sometimes the hardest part of motherhood isnā€™t the sleepless nights or the mental loadā€¦ itā€™s the quiet longing for a bigger village.

Itā€™s wishing for a mother-in-law who feels safe, supportive, and genuinely on your team. Someone who shows up without judgment, respects boundaries, and loves your children in a way that lightens the load instead of adding to it. Someone who remembers that becoming a mom doesnā€™t mean you stop needing care too.

Itā€™s craving more hands, more hearts, more people who ask ā€œHow can I help?ā€ and actually mean it. A village that checks in, brings a meal, holds the baby when asked, and reminds you that you were never meant to do this alone.

Itā€™s also wanting your children to have more love around them. More arms to hug and relationships to grow up with. They deserve that other set of grandparentsā€¦

Wanting that doesnā€™t make you ungrateful. Motherhood is beautiful, but itā€™s also heavyā€¦ and heavy things are easier to carry together.

Sponge baths clean all the areas that need to be and my baby doesnā€™t scream.. their skin isnā€™t ready for constant bathing.
