The United States set the world record in the 4x100 mixed relay on Saturday, clocking 3 minutes, 18.48 seconds in the swim world championships.

The old record was 3:18.83 set in 2023 by Australia.

It came on a night when the United States won three gold medals, by far its best performance in what had been a lackluster championship for the team.

Trump has been pressuring Senate Republicans for weeks to cancel the August recess and grind through dozens of his nominations as Democrats have slowed the process.

That's part of the reason the Iowa chapter of Blue Star Mothers was chosen as a beneficiary for Sunday's Iowa Legislative Slow-Pitch Softball Game. They're in the middle of putting together holiday care packages for each and every member.
