When working on vocals one of my favourite things to do is to use the classic legendary 1176 Rev and a subtle touch of the iconic LA-2A just enough to glue the vocals together . It never fails and always gives consistent results. Try it on your vocals and thank me later .

What separates a mixer from a great mixing engineer is emotion. It’s those little moments in a song—the additions and subtractions—that help bring it to life. A great mixing engineer doesn’t just balance levels or polish the sound; they create a connection, amplifying the artist’s message and making the listener feel something. It’s about knowing when to push, when to hold back, and how to shape the dynamics so every element serves the story of the song.

There is nothing better than being in the studio with a great vibe , great chemistry, a focus to what is best for the song, and just being creative. I’ve been lucky enough to have worked with some great artists where the vibes been so chill it makes it seem like we are a bunch of friends just enjoying the and having fun. I think everyone should have that feeling when in the studio . It should never be “work” . It should be fun and enjoyable. Make mistakes, add that sound you think might sound good or bad. Play with ideas, mess around and see what you end up walking out with. Amazing things happen when you’re just having fun!
