Another heavy heart day here at Westborough TV, as we remember Reverend Frederick Robert “Bob” Brown, longtime host of Westborough TV's show "My Westborough Story." Bob interviewed a number of folks in Westborough over the years, and we've got those treasured videos in our archive as a living history of our town and residents. We did flip the script on him at one point and our former crew member Tim Novak did a "My Westborough Story" *with* Bob *about* Bob back in 2012. He was kind, knowledgeable, insightful, humble, and a deeply respected figure in Westborough. We miss him and we were all better for knowing him. Bob passed away late this fall. His obituary can be found here below. Calling hours are tonight - Friday evening, January 9, 2026, from 5-7pm in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life is being held tomorrow, Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11am in the Congregational Church of Westborough, preceded by a private interment at Pine Grove Cemetery. https://www.westboroughfuneralhome.com/obituaries/rev-frederick-brown

We are heartbroken to share the news of Karen McKenzie's passing. Karen was the creator and host of our Westborough TV series "Seniors on the Move," as well as "Fit for Life with Karen" produced by our friends at Shrewsbury Media Connection. She was a treasure and absolutely in her element when the camera was rolling. Her obituary can be found online: https://www.chiampafuneralhome.com/obituaries/Karen-M-Mckenzie?obId=46867591 #/obituaryInfo

Since 2004, Karen has been a beloved fixture here at Westborough TV, launching her signature series "Seniors on the Move" with a true heart for service. In those 21 years and 200(!) episodes, she remained dedicated to her original vision of creating a talk show that was as entertaining as it was informative for seniors and baby boomers alike.

She started the program to provide information and a vital bridge to community resources, ensuring that local seniors had the inspiration and tools to navigate their later years with confidence. In a 2004 MetroWest Daily News article about the show’s premiere, she shared her hope that the series would "emphasize health as it relates to an active lifestyle. The approach is preventative and holistic - mind, body, spirit and emotions." And that is exactly the legacy she built.

Seniors on the Move followed a thoughtful format centered on expert interviews with guests Karen met or sought out for their specialized knowledge. Over the years, she welcomed healthcare professionals, financial advisors, fitness experts, and community leaders to discuss a wide range of subjects, from physical health and wellness to navigating local support systems. As a senior fitness specialist, Karen used her expertise to advocate for this balanced lifestyle, helping her viewers "age with grace."

Her shows were a platform for empowerment for our senior population, aiming to transform the perception of aging into a positive, active, and deeply engaged experience.

In an interview I did with her this past spring about her views on aging she mentioned one of her favorite sayings: "We don't stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing. And it's the truth so keep that in mind. Try something new!" And boy did she embrace that mantra - the youngest 82 year old we’ve ever met! Karen's work provided countless people with the inspiration to live more fully, and her presence at the studio will be deeply missed by our Westborough TV crew and the many viewers whose lives she touched.❤️
