My Dream Sewing Room is finally starting to take shape! 🧵✨

Before the cabinets arrive, I wanted to show you exactly how I’m planning the space and why I chose each piece.

In this digital tour, I’m walking you through my full sewing room layout, including dedicated areas for cutting, pressing, sewing, serging, and embroidery, plus LOTS of storage for all the fabric, thread, stabilizer, presser feet, notions, and supplies that come with sewing.

I’m incorporating Horn of America cabinets throughout the room, along with my sewing machines and Laurastar pressing system, with the goal of creating a space that is beautiful, functional, and designed around the way I actually sew.

The biggest thing I considered when planning the room was workflow. I wanted everything I use most to be right where I need it without making the room feel crowded.

And this is only the digital plan. I cannot wait to show you what it looks like when everything starts arriving and the room becomes REAL!

37.2 lbs of very enthusiastic quality control. 😂
The swing up side platform on my Horn of America cabinet is designed to hold a second machine or serger up to 45 lbs.
Conveniently, I had the perfect test subject.
Judging by the swinging feet and that grin, I think he approves. 😂
Horn calls it extra workspace. He calls it his seat.
And now I’m wondering if I’ll ever get it back. 🤣

For nearly five years, the Horn of America 9100 has been the heart of my sewing room, quietly supporting every project, memory, and moment of creativity.

Tiny hem. Big difference. ✨

The BERNINA #62 straight stitch hemmer makes it easy to create a narrow, clean 1/8” hem without pressing and folding everything by hand first.

It is the perfect pair for Liberty Tana Lawn fabric, especially when you want a delicate, polished finish without adding bulk. It is also great for lightweight fabrics, ruffles, napkins, scarves, and garment details.

Confession: For years, I sewed in whatever chair I could find. 😅
