On September 24, Soroptimist International of Conejo Valley hosts the 24th Annual Margarita MixOff & More, where local restaurants compete for the People’s Choice title while guests enjoy handcrafted margaritas, a silent auction, and an evening dedicated to giving back.

Nearly a quarter century later, the MixOff continues to show what can happen when a community comes together to support its own, with proceeds helping fund grants for local nonprofits.

American Cancer Society: Relay For Life of Conejo Valley

Relay For Life is more than a fundraiser. It’s a reminder that no one should have to face cancer alone. 💜

On September 19, the Relay For Life of Conejo Valley brings survivors, caregivers, families, and neighbors together at Cal Lutheran’s Memorial Field for a day centered on remembrance, hope, and support.

The event includes the Survivor Lap and Luminaria Ceremony, honoring those who are still fighting, celebrating survivors, and remembering the lives lost to cancer.

Funds raised support the American Cancer Society’s research, transportation services, and 24/7 resources for patients and families.

MANDO: Mentoring Youth for Life

After spending years in the juvenile justice system, Marcos founded MANDO, Mentors Against Negative Decisions Outreach, to give Ventura County youth the mentorship, structure, and support he didn’t always have growing up.

Today, MANDO reaches young people through:

• Case management and mentorship
• Art therapy
• Boxing programs
• Barber-chair mentoring sessions

It’s about more than building confidence. It’s about helping young people see what’s possible for their future.
