Today we remember a poet and storyteller for the ages, Robert E. Howard. This is my portrait I painted for my Songs of Giants book.

I was going through some old photos this morning and found a few from the Philadelphia Comic Book Spectacular from Oct 1994. I was deep into my work on Radical Dreamer and the Insight Studios gang was on hand, including the irrepressible Al Gross. For some reason I was doing a "Zoolander" long before the film was made (now we know where they got it from!)

I wrote this song decades ago, when I was frustrated at trying to get enough work to survive. I found my old two track recording of guitar and vocal a few weeks ago and decided that the time was ripe to finish the song. In fact, I think it has more to say in today's world.

What the World needs now is Peace, Love and Understanding! Carol and I hope that Santa and 2021 will bring us all every bit of PLU that we need! We have all been much more isolated in the past year than we would like. And we hope for the health and comfort to allow us to see you all again in the New Year. Until then, as the Moody Blues said, “Dreaming is the best way to travel!”

I'm still feeling the loss of Richard Corben. The one time we "collaborated" was for this cover of "Vic and Blood." I don't know why Corben did not create a cover for his book, but the publisher came to me and asked if I could find art from the story to use as a cover. So I pulled a few images from the story and laid out this image. The art was all in line, so I also painted the cover, doing my best to make it look and feel like something that Corben would have done. I did the best I could, but I know Corben would have done a much better job.

One of my favorite paintings from the last few years. This was used as an interior illustration, but I mocked up a cover and this version appeared in the Panthans Journal. When a girl looks over her shoulder, it can be fun. When a bear does it, your reaction is likely to be different.
