This summer, Florida became only the second state in the nation to outlaw community water fluoridation. Signed by Governor Ron DeSantis on May 15, SB 700 took effect on July 1, 2025, forbidding cities and utilities from adding fluoride, or any other chemical not strictly required for safety, to public drinking water. Why the change? Supporters framed the measure as a “medical-freedom” victory, arguing that mass fluoridation amounts to involuntary medication and citing disputed studies linking fluoride to neuro-developmental risks....

More than 60 teen patients and their guests recently experienced a night of celebration and joy during the 10th Annual Prom at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH) in Hollywood. Thanks to the support of the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation and a dedicated team of hospital staff and donors, the event gave teens undergoing treatment a chance to participate in an important milestone many would otherwise miss....

Annual School Supply Drive Underway Broward Education Foundation is currently hosting its annual Back to School Supply Drive, which began on July 14 and runs through August 29, 2025.
