This week we ask for your support for KKFI, a community radio station which has over 200 volunteers providing public affairs, music, and diverse cultural programming. It has been broadcasting since 1988 through support from many people. This year is a crucial year for the station since Congress has cut funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting which provides assistance for community media.

This week Congress cut funding for public radio stations around the country. They include small radio stations in rural areas, NPR and PBS stations, stations that serve some communities like Native Americans, and community radio stations like KKFI. These stations are not state-controlled media which in some nations provide political propaganda in favor of a current regime. KKFI provides diversity and public affairs shows offering many perspectives some wish to suppress.
