Good morning family and friends as many of you know my husband made the decision to go on the ventilator yesterday evening. He struggled with breathing and was having panic attacks because he has PTSD and anxiety they couldn’t keep his oxygen stabilized his lungs are very very weak and not good at all. I am extending the opportunity if you would like to come see him, he in a coma at Baptist South in ICU visitation is
9:30-10:30am
1:00-2:00pm
4:00-5:00pm
8:00-9:00pm
We are keeping him comfortable and it is all in Gods hands. We appreciate all of the prayers and support everyone has shown it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Update: The doctor just came in and he’s on the by-pap now so he’s not struggling to breathe

Hey everyone I was trying to wait until the doctor comes in today but I wanted to update what I know at the moment Chris was moved yesterday to PCU which is the step down from ICU, he is on high flow oxygen still his lungs are still very weak and can not keep his o2 sats stable between the extreme coughing they are trying to treat him for that. Next step is the by-pap which was discussed yesterday he refused it yesterday he wanted the cough meds to work first.

Hey everyone Chris is in Baptist South as many know from my daughter’s post yesterday, have seen a lot of doctors and specialists since getting here. In the last 3 or so weeks he’s been in Elmore Community Hospital 3 times for Pneumonia, back to the cancer center Tuesday to follow up which he landed at Baptist East from Baptist East to Emory in Atlanta discharged on Friday had a couple of good days then things started back downhill again. He will be in Baptist South until next week. Today we have seen case worker, hospitalist, nurse practitioner who works with the oncologist, and pulmonologist. To put it completely blunt Chris’s lungs are crap. They believe the chemo drugs are causing a lot of the respiratory issues.
Please continue to pray for him to get stronger so the necessary steps can happen. The rash he broke out in is from chemo. Treatments are on halt for the time being. Antibiotics for Pneumonia but pumping steroids as well. They believe this is what he has but he’s not strong enough to have the procedure done to check

Hey everyone just wanted to update everyone thank you for many, many prayers. They have came in today and biopsied his hand from dermatology it may take 4 days to get those results back. They are not sure yet if it is the Stephen Johnson rash of chemo reaction now. In the meantime they are keeping his oxygen levels from dipping up and down. He’s not talking confused or out of his mind like he was but more alert today. Not sure how many days we will be here.

I’m posting this for Michelle since she currently has laryngitis and can’t update everyone herself and is a bit overwhelmed.

This morning, Chris was told to go to his oncologist, and when he arrived, the doctor became concerned that he may have Stevens Johnson syndrome. He was transferred by ambulance to East for further treatment.

At this point, they aren’t sure if East will be able to keep him. If it is Stevens Johnson syndrome, he may need to be moved to a burn unit. We are currently waiting for answers. If he will go to UAB or not.

He had been in Elmore County for about a week, where an IV backed up in his hand, and they initially thought that was causing the rash. However, it is now rapidly spreading from hand to hand and up his arms.

Since coming home, he has been very lethargic and not himself. His oxygen levels have been fluctuating, and he has a bad cough. A CT scan has shown cancer on his brain, and he also has pneumonia.

We are asking for prayers for healing, for answers, and for the right medical team and care decisions. Please also pray for Michelle as she is trying to navigate all of this while not feeling well herself.

Happy Easter everyone. Have a wonderful blessed Sunday. Chris is home came home late Friday and is resting. Follow up at cancer center this coming Friday to see how the new medicine is working.
