Keep Local News Alive in Wyoming – Subscribe Today

Just a few weeks ago, the Record-Times nearly went dark forever. Readers lost a trusted source of news. Advertisers lost their voice. Communities lost their record-keeper.

Today, we are back – and stronger – because neighbors like you stood up for local journalism.

We’ve rehired the editors, reporters, designers, and advertising reps you know and trust. They’re once again covering your schools, city councils, courts, and Friday night games – keeping civic life visible and accountable. But to keep these papers alive, we need your support.

Why Subscribe?

· Because local papers are run by people who live here, work here, and raise families here.

· Because your subscription means more reporters, stronger coverage, and deeper community connections.

· Because every dollar stays in Wyoming, reinvested in our towns, our businesses, and our shared future.

We’re not the old owners. We’re your neighbors. Our mission is to restore trust, grow coverage, and ensure that Wyoming voices are heard.

Your subscription is more than access to a newspaper. It’s a vote for transparency, accountability, and the stories that make our communities stronger.

Join us in writing this next chapter. Subscribe today and help ensure that reliable local journalism continues to belong to the people it serves – you.

Help Lead Wyoming Journalism Forward

News Reporter – Platte County Record-Times (Wheatland, WY)

Three weeks ago, the lights nearly went out on community journalism in Wyoming. Thanks to a new locally owned partnership, the Platte County Record-Times is alive again—and we’re building for the future.

We are seeking a working news reporter to join our newsroom in Wheatland. This is a hands-on role: writing stories, shooting photographs, mentoring a small but dedicated staff, and shaping the coverage that keeps Platte County informed and connected.

What You’ll Do:
Report on schools, government, courts, businesses, and community life
Shoot photos that capture the spirit of Platte County
Be part of a small, but committed newsroom staff
Work closely with publishers who are invested in Wyoming’s future
Uphold the values of local, independent journalism

Who You Are:
A strong writer and storyteller with a nose for news
Comfortable juggling reporting, editing, and photography
A leader who thrives in a collaborative, small-team environment
Passionate about local journalism and the role it plays in civic life

What We Offer:
The chance to be part of a fresh start for Wyoming journalism
Support from owners and colleagues who live and work in Wyoming
Competitive compensation and the opportunity to grow with us
The satisfaction of making a real difference in your community
This is more than a job—it’s a chance to help rebuild and reimagine trusted local journalism at a crucial moment.
