Woke up today it’s been 10 years and 1 days since we bought out the partners and took the wheel at ARCTEK. A milestone that shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Looking back, we’ve changed just about everything. The fleet? Gone are the days of purple, cyan, green, and orange trucks. These days it’s gray, magenta, blue, red, white, yellow and black. We’ve grown the company, moved the company, tackled challenges, survived a few “character-building experiences,” and probably made enough mistakes to write a training manual.
Would I change some things if I could do it all over again? Absolutely. Anyone who says otherwise is either lying or has forgotten. But there’s one thing I wouldn’t change for a second: having Julie Kay alongside me for the entire ride. Now the operators manager at ARCTEK she keeps the ship running smoothly and is the best truck detailer and overnight driver in the world.
It’s been a crazy decade full of long days, big wins, a few bruises, and plenty of stories that I probably told way too many times.
It feels fitting that I’m celebrating this anniversary by waking up in a hotel room somewhere between Chicago and Detroit heading to Indianapolis, to spend the weekend working with some of the best people in television—with Julie Kay at the wheel we will end the week in NYC.
Ten years later, we are still moving forward, still learning, still grateful.
Thanks to all the clients for trusting us with their product and to all the employees, past and present. Huge shout out to Nick Hendrickson our chief engineer who’s been with us since the beginning and is second to none in the business of uplinking.
If uplinking was an Olympic sport Mike Cauffman, Chris Hovel and Jeremy Lagos would be the dream team. You guys are truly the best of the best. Thank you for your dedication and trusting us with your livelihood. We couldn’t have done without you.
Now to quote the great JayZ “on to the next one.”
