RESTORATION - PART TWO

Do you sometimes feel like I do, that much of life may have already passed, that you may have lost the opportunity to accomplish certain things?

Consider Joseph in the text below:

Genesis 41:51 - Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh, "For God," he said, "has made me forget all my trouble and all my father's house."

Joseph commemorated his RESTORATION by naming his first child Manasseh, meaning:

1. The present reward or breakthrough covers everything that was delayed, withheld, or stolen. That's why you would forget everything you felt was lost.

2. It happens sometimes effortlessly. Joseph was released from prison and enthroned without doing anything. His faithfulness, the injustice, hatred, and misfortunes were rewarded at long last.

3. It can be spontaneous. Joseph was freed from prison, given a wife, and promoted as Prime Minister. It was like a chain reaction.

4. Opposition usually is non-existent. It might have felt very strange to Joseph, for the first time in 13 years, how everything was falling in place without resistance.

5. It may be shockingly surprising. The system that denied Joseph justice later gave him the highest authority of justice. Watch out! The place of your worst experience may be the point of your greatest blessings!

God's RESTORATION makes losses, delays, past sufferings irrelevant.

RESTORATION

Do you feel sometimes like I do, that much of life has passed, that you have lost the opportunity to achieve certain things? Consider these two examples:

1. Sarah
Genesis 21:6-7 (NET) Sarah said, “God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”
She went on to say, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have given birth to a son for him in his old age!”

Sarah was 90 years when she born Isaac. So late that only one child she could have, yet, that one son is the person through whom we are all saved today.
Question: how many children can you compare to the value to Isaac?

That is RESTORATION!

2. Elizabeth
Luke 1:24-25 (NET) After some time his wife Elizabeth became pregnant, and for five months she kept herself in seclusion. She said,
“This is what the Lord has done for me at the time when he has been gracious to me, to take away my disgrace among people.”

Elizabeth and her husband were very old and out of range to have children, just like Abraham and Sarah.

They got one at long last! Yet, Jesus says John the Baptist was the greatest prophet (Matt. 11:11).

In both cases, the one son more than compensated for the many children they didn't have.

That's RESTORATION.

The next time you're tempted to feel frustrated at lost time and opportunity, remember RESTORATION is your heritage.

YOU ARE EXCEPTIONAL

Deuteronomy 33:29 (UKJV) Happy are you, O Israel: who is like unto you, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of your help, and who is the sword of your excellency! and your enemies shall be found liars unto you; and you shall tread upon their high places.

1. As God's chosen child, you are blessed.

2. You have no replacement.

3. The LORD Himself redeemed you.

4. The LORD is your shield of help (weapon of defense).

5. The LORD is your majestic sword (weapon of attack).

6. All that your enemies desire and plan will turn into a lie.

7. You will walk on their high places.

A journey to memory lane...

I wrote my first song in 1997, I gave it a title: “The Lifter Up” written from Psalms 3:3-5. It says that Lord you are my glory and the lifter up of my head. It was an amazing experience for me to write my first song because i remembered that about 8 years earlier, my aunt Esther and I tried to write at least one song and we were not successful in the sense that we could not remember the tune! Everyday we had to assign a new tune to this one song because only God could remember the original tune! Hahaha... have you ever had such an experience when you can’t remember the tune of your own song? It happens!

Anyhow, I later realized that writing songs is, just like many other ministry gifts, a function of grace. Grace is what makes the difference. When grace flows, you can accomplish in a very short time what you could not do in many years. I recall in the year 2000, one evening while attending a Tuesday evening service I listened to the Pastor preaching from 2 Timothy 1:6. He talked about how Paul said, this charge is for you son Timothy that you stir up the gift of God that’s in you by the laying on of hands. As soon as I heard that statement, it clicked in my spirit as a line for a song. The following day while in the office i remembered that i had a line for a song, so i decided to take a few minutes to write up that song and see what it would look like. I started to write the song and completed it within 15 minutes! The inspiration was so strong, I felt like an Angel stood behind me dictating the words, it was amazing! I called the song “Stir up the Gift”. Usually I get the words and the tune at the same time and I don’t forget it once I have written and sung it.

My 20 years journey of song writing has been a long one. To date i have written close to 50 songs and I still write more songs by the special grace of God. I can get the inspiration anytime, any where: sometimes in the plane while flying from one country to another, in the kitchen, in the office, at church while listening to a sermon, in the car, while praying... at times i forget the prayer and start writing a song that i pick up in my spirit (and continue praying later). Anyway, it is a long story... but in short, now is the time to finally launch my music ministry out where the people are. I pray that all who hear will be blessed, encouraged, inspired and strengthened in one way of another as they listen to my music. Watch out for my new Album soon to release titled “Now is the Time”. Official launch set for August 24, 2018 in Monrovia. You are all invited, if you can make it, it’s gonna be a blast! At the launch, I will tell the story of now i wrote the song: “Now is the Time” ... don’t miss out!
