YOUR "HUMAN ALGORITHM" Staff Featurette: Sharing the humans behind the magic of JAM!

Meet Mike Cannon, Operations Manager and Producer!

💎 WHAT DO YOU DO? 💎
I'm a field producer, video editor, and the operations manager at JAM. I keep the equipment organized and ready to use. I also coordinate town municipal meetings.

💙 WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT JAM? 💙
I love that JAM is so widely known as a place where people feel supported and comfortable expressing themselves. I love seeing a project we helped produce in its final form and in turn watching others gain the confidence that they can do the same thing.

🌎 WHAT UPCOMING EVENT ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT? 🌎
I always look forward to the annual 24h Play Fest (10/24) which is an encapsulation of the resources of space and community we have in WRJ. Writers camp out overnight in our offices writing a short play which is then rehearsed and performed the following evening at the Briggs Opera House. All of this in the same building!

PEOPLE POWER: Snapshots of JAM's awesome supporters!

Meet Evelynn!

💚 WHAT WAS THE LAST JAM OFFERING YOU ATTENDED? 💚
I attended the 2025 opening night for the Film Festival. I was in hand surgery at 11:30 that morning but took the heavy meds and made the opening! No worries. I did not drive there and I so enjoyed watching "Black Girls Kissing" finally hit the screen! Written by Julia Anderson and produced by Kiersten White.

🌱 WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO DONATE TO JAM? 🌱
I admire how JAM uses all of the creative arts to bring the community together to learn, enjoy the work, and spread the practice of community building throughout the Valley. It is such a global world in that small special place.

🍏 WHAT’S A FUN FACT ABOUT YOU? 🍏
I think organic compost is one of the most exciting things in the world! My sister tells me to never share that fact with anyone outside the family, so I try to share it with everyone I talk to! LOL!
