🚨 The OK-Green didn’t disappoint in 2024 — and 2025 is already shaping up to be even better.

Mona Shores reclaimed its spot at the top with a perfect run through conference play, taking down both Muskegon and Byron Center to win its first league title since 2020. Behind senior QB Jonathan Pittman and a stacked roster, the Sailors looked unstoppable — until Byron Center got payback in the district final, 30-23, and punched a ticket to the D2 state championship game.

With standout names like Tomarion Steward, Sage Secrest, and Darekeo Speech gone to graduation or the next level, it’s a new chapter — but the stakes are the same. Rivalries are real, the talent is deep, and the OK-Green is once again one of the best conferences in Michigan.

Strap in. Fall is coming. 🏈🔥

Can Muskegon bounce back in 2025? Will Mona Shores and Byron Center replicate 2024?

Stepping onto the field this week was more than just another 7-on-7 — the Montague Wildcats are entering a new chapter under newly appointed head coach Phil Koops.

An Olivet College alum and former standout center, Koops brings a seasoned pedigree from Hamilton High School, where he led the Hawkeyes to a conference title appearance last fall and earned Regional Coach of the Year honors. His energy and vision were already on display at this week’s Hope College 7-on-7, where he guided the Wildcats to the camp semifinals.
