Lemonade, Leadership, and a Little Hustle 🍋💼🔥

Station 33 members made it a point to stop by and support a couple young entrepreneurs running a lemonade stand out of Station 32’s parking lot on the east side of town. Ambition starts early — and these kids clearly have it!

Big respect to the parents raising confident, hardworking kids who aren’t afraid to put themselves out there. You’re doing something right.

To the little business crew: keep up the great work, and enjoy what’s left of your summer!

🚨Three Sworn In. One Mission🚨

Every addition strengthens the mission. Every member carries the name.
Respect it. Represent it. Deliver when it counts.

Ahead of yesterday’s drill, we swore in three new Associate Members to the Whiting Fire Water Rescue & Recovery Team.

🔹 Chris Kimbiz and Chris Walaszek join our roster as ERDI-certified Public Safety Divers/Tenders after completing our second hosted ERDI 1 / Tender Technician course with NEPSD. Both members are also personnel of Manchester Police, bringing additional law enforcement experience to our team’s operational profile.

🔹 Mark Botti joins us as a Topside Support Member and Boat Operator, enhancing our surface operations with a commitment to mission success. He will assist in critical topside logistics during both drills and deployments.

These members are now fully integrated into The Whiting Fire Water Rescue & Recovery Team, operating with us during drills and deployments/incidents.

Current Team Composition:

✅ 9 ERDI Public Safety Divers (all dual-certified as ERDI Tender Technicians)
✅ 9 Surface-Based Support Personnel
✅ 1 EMT
✅ 13 Certified Boat Operators
✅ 3 Law Enforcement Officers

Each member plays a role in our mission:

To remain ever Committed To Service in guarding the lives and property of the people of Manchester Township and our surrounding neighbors, through strength, courage, knowledge, and service.

🚨 Structure Fire: Pine Ridge 🚨

On Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, at approximately 9:10 PM, Whiting Fire Station 33 was dispatched by the Ocean County Sheriff’s 911 Center to a reported structure fire in the Pine Ridge section of Whiting. A single 9-1-1 caller reported visible flames and smoke coming from a mobile home.

Manchester Township Police arrived and confirmed a working fire with a possible occupant still inside.

Chief 3300 and Assistant Chief 3310 arrived on scene with 3300 taking interior operations and 3310 assuming command. It was immediately noted that there was excessive interior storage with physical obstructions that would significantly complicate access and visibility for interior crews.

Engine 3301 arrived shortly after with a full crew. Personnel immediately split into teams and launched a coordinated, aggressive interior operation—making entry at two separate points to accelerate both fire suppression and primary search efforts. One team advanced a 1¾” handline to quickly knock down the fire, while the other conducted a primary search under extreme heat and confined interior conditions. Despite the challenging environment, crews executed a fast and determined attack.

Tragically, a victim was located by the suppression team and was determined to have succumbed to the fire.

The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, and Manchester Township Police Department are conducting an investigation into the cause .

Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones and the Pine Ridge community during this time.
