🚨 Structure Fire: Pine Ridge 🚨
On Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, at approximately 9:10 PM, Whiting Fire Station 33 was dispatched by the Ocean County Sheriff’s 911 Center to a reported structure fire in the Pine Ridge section of Whiting. A single 9-1-1 caller reported visible flames and smoke coming from a mobile home.
Manchester Township Police arrived and confirmed a working fire with a possible occupant still inside.
Chief 3300 and Assistant Chief 3310 arrived on scene with 3300 taking interior operations and 3310 assuming command. It was immediately noted that there was excessive interior storage with physical obstructions that would significantly complicate access and visibility for interior crews.
Engine 3301 arrived shortly after with a full crew. Personnel immediately split into teams and launched a coordinated, aggressive interior operation—making entry at two separate points to accelerate both fire suppression and primary search efforts. One team advanced a 1¾” handline to quickly knock down the fire, while the other conducted a primary search under extreme heat and confined interior conditions. Despite the challenging environment, crews executed a fast and determined attack.
Tragically, a victim was located by the suppression team and was determined to have succumbed to the fire.
The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, and Manchester Township Police Department are conducting an investigation into the cause .
Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones and the Pine Ridge community during this time.
