It’s been a big couple of days at the Kentucky State Fair for McCreary County Tourism!

Yesterday, Amy Cloud, Executive Director of the Kentucky Chamber, stopped by to show her support.
And today, we had the privilege of visiting with Mike Mangeot, Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Tourism.

We are so grateful for their support as we continue to share McCreary County’s story — a place where adventure meets hospitality, and Kentucky’s natural beauty shines bright.

The last few days at the Kentucky State Fair have been nothing short of incredible!

We’ve had the privilege of sharing McCreary County’s story with thousands of visitors — showing off our breathtaking outdoor adventures, small-town charm, and the warm hospitality that makes our community so special.

From chatting with folks about our trails, waterfalls, and festivals, to handing out guides and answering questions, it’s been a joy to see so many people light up when they learn what’s waiting for them in McCreary County.

The fair has been busy, the conversations have been positive, and the pride we feel in representing our county is overflowing.

We’re not done yet — but we can already say this: McCreary County has made its mark at the Kentucky State Fair!

🚐 Retro Camper Weekend Update 🚐

We always look forward to bringing new and fun events to McCreary County, but sometimes things just don’t take off the way we hope. Unfortunately, due to low interest, we’ve made the decision to cancel Retro Camper Weekend.

We appreciate those who showed excitement and support, and we’ll keep working on creating events that bring our community and visitors together. Stay tuned — we’ve got plenty of other great activities and celebrations coming your way!

Kentucky State Fair – Days 3 & 4 Recap!

Gracious! What a busy weekend it’s been at the Kentucky State Fair! Our booth has been filled with visitors eager to learn more about McCreary County and all the incredible things Kentucky has to offer. 💙

From sharing stories and guides to answering questions and making new friends, it’s been non-stop energy — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

A big highlight: we even got interviewed by ABC News! Such a wonderful opportunity to showcase McCreary County and shine a spotlight on our community.

The fair still has 7 more days to go, and we’re just getting started. If you’re headed to Louisville this week, make sure to stop by, say hi, and grab some info about planning your next Kentucky adventure!

Day two may have been a little quieter on the crowds, but that just gave us more time for meaningful one-on-one conversations — and it was packed with great moments that made it a day to remember! We spent the day sharing McCreary County pride, connecting with folks from across the state, and swapping stories about our beautiful corner of Kentucky.

One of the biggest highlights? Getting the chance to talk with Matt Jones, the voice of Kentucky Sports Radio! A quick conversation, a friendly smile, and a memory we’ll be talking about long after the fair is over.

We kicked off the fair meeting some of the sweetest, most enthusiastic visitors — each conversation a reminder of why we’re proud to share McCreary County with the world. 💙

And what a treat to run into familiar faces from back home! Even here in Louisville, McCreary County pride shines bright, and seeing friends from our community made the day even more special.

From sharing stories to showcasing our county’s beauty in our brochures and videos, today was all about connection, pride, and a little bit of home away from home.
