FUN FACT: got their name from the Name Taken song “Panic” 😎
Name Taken was a band from Orange County, California formed somewhere around 1999.
Initially formed as 'All That's Left', the band recorded a demo that became known as 'The Stupid Chad' EP and performed live at backyard shows and church events.
In 2001, the band added Ryan Edwards on guitar and entered the infamous Love Juice Laboratories to record 'The Silent Game' EP, which was released by local label Top Notch Records.
Name Taken quickly saw their profile rise, playing packed shows at larger venues such as Chain Reaction, House of Blues Anaheim alongside bigger acts like Slick Shoes & Dogwood.
Despite their newfound success & in the midst of the young band's ascent in the local scene, Name Taken found themselves without a drummer as Bret (original drummer) decided to step down.
Danny Valencia of Downey, California soon stepped up to fill the open position and it was indeed with his addition that Name Taken saw their greatest growth as a band.
They soon entered the studio to record several demos with Beau Burchell (Saosin), and eventually teamed up with Bayside to release a split on Dying Wish Records in 2003.
It was followed with tours with Spitalfield, Alexisonfire, Silverstein, Senses Fail and more.
In December 2003, Name Taken announced they had signed with Fiddler Records.
They once again entered the studio with Beau Burchell and soon released "Hold On", both their first and last full length album.
It was supported by tours with Fall Out Boy, Bayside, From First To Last, Reliant K, and
Armor For Sleep , among others.
Name Taken disbanded in 2005, although they played two reunion shows in 2007 and released a new song in 2018.
Tracks 1-5, 8 & 9 recorded & mixed by Beau Burchell.
