One year ago today I got to check another unforgettable experience off the list.

After the Creed concert was finished, I was brought in to DJ the private after-party for the bands on that tour. What was supposed to be a late night turned into five hours of music and karaoke, from midnight until 5:00 a.m.

It’s one of those gigs I’ll always be grateful I got to be a part of.

Looking back, it was a pretty incredible night.

I haven’t submitted anything for the KAB Awards since 2019.

After plenty of KAB awards and a CBI award, I honestly never felt much of a need to enter again. This year, I decided to send in an aircheck just for fun and see what happened.

Turns out, I’ve still got it.

First place for DJ Personality Aircheck in the large-market division, recognizing the best on-air work in the state of Kansas.

Not a bad way to check back in.

I peak after sunset… Scheduling the egg toss during daylight was the first mistake.

Last year, it was my fault. One bad step, one bad catch, and our Riverfest egg toss dreams champion were over.

This year, we came back looking for redemption. I had complete faith in my partner, Zeb The DJ . He's got the soft hands that come with raising your first kid. (After the first one... parenting gets a little less delicate. Speaking from experience 😂)

Unfortunately, this year, he had the drops.

Our redemption arc will just have to wait one more year. We'll be back. 🥚💪

Never would've guessed a few years ago that DJing would take me to places like this.

Last month it was Las Vegas. This weekend it's Broadway in Nashville.

Grateful for every opportunity and excited to add another city to the list.
