Perfect Void

Perfect Void Perfect Void is a DIY collective. We release music, book shows, and support artists making raw, dreamy, emotionally intense work. We’re not here to scale.

We are here to hold space. If it’s honest, we’re listening.

MILKWAVE’s new EP, I’m On Your Side, is out now on Bandcamp. It was recorded at the Perfect Void studio. The production is raw and honest, just capturing what was there.

This isn’t a Perfect Void release, but we believe in the people behind it. The members of Milkwave have spent years building and supporting Wichita’s DIY music scene, and it shows. If you’ve ever noticed Matthew Lynn Wiseman beaming while watching a young band play their first show, you’ll understand.

It’s about 16 minutes: short, sharp, and worth your time.

WHAT IS PERFECT VOID?

Perfect Void is a small, independent collective based in Wichita, Kansas.

We support artists who live between genres: people making dreamy, abrasive, off-center music that doesn’t fit a template. Some are local. Some aren’t. All of them are trying to make something real, on their own terms.

We produce, release, and promote music. We book shows. We collaborate. We help artists go deeper into what they’re already becoming.

This isn’t a business plan. It’s a practice.
We’re not here to scale… we’re here to hold space.
If you’ve ever felt like your work was too strange, too subtle, or too personal for the room-
you might be in the right place.

ON INCLUSIVITY:

Perfect Void is an inclusive space. That’s not a slogan-it’s a baseline.

We support q***r artists, trans artists, BIPOC artists, neurodivergent artists, disabled artists, and anyone who’s been pushed to the margins by the industry or the scene. We believe in bodily autonomy, chosen family, and the right to take up space.

We don’t separate identity from art. We don’t expect anyone to make themselves smaller, quieter, or easier to market. We’re not interested in tolerating difference. We’re building something around it.

This is a space for complexity.
For contradiction.
For joy, grief, rage, softness, and everything in between.

If that’s not what you’re about, this probably isn’t the place for you.

WHAT WE SOUND LIKE:

Perfect Void doesn’t follow a genre. We care about tone, texture, and intent.

We’re drawn to music that’s dreamy, raw, strange, or emotionally intense. It might be lo-fi or high-concept. It might be soft and slow, or sharp and disorienting. What matters is that it feels personal-unpolished when it needs to be, theatrical when it wants to be.

We’re interested in artists who:
- Don’t fit cleanly into scenes
- Blur the line between pop and noise, groove and atmosphere
- Take risks
- Don’t make music just to get on playlists

We believe some of the best music is made in bedrooms, basements, and moments of crisis. We value experimentation, honesty, and a point of view.

Perfect Void is for artists who care more about expression than marketability. We’re not here to polish you into something you’re not. We are here to help you go deeper into what you already are.

HOW WE WORK:

Perfect Void is not a traditional label. We don’t own your music, and we’re not here to control your process.

We collaborate. That might mean producing your track, releasing your EP, booking you on a show, or connecting you with other artists. Sometimes it’s one of those things. Sometimes it’s all of them.

If we release a record, the Perfect Void name goes on it, whether we mixed it, mastered it, or just helped get it out into the world. If we didn’t release it, and didn’t create it, we don’t expect credit. We’re not here to brand other people’s music-we’re here to support it.

We work with artists who:
- Want help without giving up control
- Are open to honest feedback and creative exchange
- Respect the time and labor of others
- Want to build something that lasts longer than a single release

We mostly release digitally, but we’re open to physical media when it makes sense.
We book local shows and regional events with the long-term goal of expanding.
We don’t rush timelines. We don’t chase trends. We care about the work.

This is about community, not hierarchy.
If we’re already working with you, it’s because we believe in what you’re doing. If we aren't but you think we should be, let us know.
