We are 2 weeks away from reaching 16 weeks since we applied to India! It seems like the average wait is a tad longer than 16 weeks right now, but definitely could still have approval around that time! Please pray for a quick and seamless approval from India 🙏🏻 for our family!
After we are approved we can start receiving referrals 🥰 That's when this whole process will feel real to me, I think!

Ahhh!! We received our i800a approval letter today 🥳🥳📣🙌🏻
This is basically the United States giving us permission to adopt internationally.
Also, we are more than half way through our wait for India to process our application to adopt a special needs child from their country!
Right around Easter is when we expect to hear from them 😀🐰

We are 4 weeks into our 4 month (ish) wait for India to approve our application to adopt 🥳 Time is going by so fast now that the wait isn't on us to be doing the homework 😅 However, we are planning fundraisers and filling out/ researching grants while we wait.
This week we have our biometrics appointment for immigration and then we wait for approval from them.
Things are moving along 🫶

2 big updates today!
Our coordinator emailed to let us know she officially completed our CARA registration on Jan 1 🎊
And our payment to USCIS was processed today, so we have officially applied for the i800 🥳
Let the (hopefully only 4-5 months) countdown begin 😁😁😁

We received the rest of our apostilles in the mail today 🥳🥳🥳 Which was a wonderful Christmas gift 🙌
I scanned them all over to our coordinator, so I'd suspect we will be registered with CARA *very* soon 😁

I just got the email!
WE'RE HOME STUDY APPROVED 🥳🥹🥹

Next we have to send all our notarized papers to the state to get certified and then when we get those back we can apply to India!

Meanwhile we will apply to USCIS for the I800a and write our little hearts out for every grant we can find 😅💖

Yesterday I picked up our notorized psych evals from the psychologist's office 👏🏼 That was such a huge weight off of us. It has been surprisingly difficult finding the resources we need here in Wichita for our international adoption.... BUT we are persevering 😁

I wanted to give you all an update 📝
We are about 2/3 of the way finished with our home study! It seems like the most monotonous and time consuming part (on our end). The next few steps will be lengthy waiting on others to check boxes & that feels less stressful to me 😅 Things are moving right along over here. We feel like we are exactly where we need to be. Thank you all for your support 💜
