MAPC’s year-end meeting was packed with major decisions. The commissioners denied a proposed RV campground, approved multiple rezonings for housing and commercial projects, deferred several plats and variances, and accepted the annual Comprehensive Plan review.

Council member Becky Tuttle stated that any exemption of groceries, diapers, or other necessities in the proposed one percent City of Wichita sales tax would have to be decided by the state, not city council. A housing development was approved. Homes will start at $400,000.
