Our Story

Illumination Cinema is a multimedia company in Wichita, KS with a strong focus on creating original animated films.

The group was started as a cloud-based team of filmmakers in 2013. Three writers attempting to get freelance work (Tyler W. Moore, Christopher Strong and Jamie Zin) all crossed paths while working on different jobs. Eventually, they were all brought together to work on what would become Illumination Cinema’s first project, BRIMSTONE TERRACE.

It was at some point during the production of this series that they all had the same idea: form a studio. They expanded their efforts to create short films, the ILLUMINATION CINEMA MOVIE PODCAST and their first live action feature, LIVING AFTER MIDNIGHT.

A couple years later, the team expanded and began working on their next two features, the animated film LEFT HOOK and the live action feature-length remake of their short, WISH YOU WERE HERE. All the while, simultaneously producing directorial debut short films for the new talent including: ANOTHER DAY COLDER, HOW MUCH, FALLING OUT and NIGHTMARE DRIVE. It was also around this time that they mostly centralized in Wichita, KS.
