📣 Coaching Transition at Wildwood Middle High School 🐾🏈

Wildwood Middle High School announces that Lorenzo Fields has officially resigned as Head Coach of the Wildwood Football Program. We sincerely thank Coach Fields for his time, leadership, and contributions to our student-athletes. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

With that, we are proud to welcome Rhett Caruthers as the new Head Football Coach of the Wildwood Wildcats! A 7th-generation native of Sumter County, Coach Caruthers brings strong community ties and a lifelong passion for mentoring youth. He is married to Kristin Caruthers (Hinkle), a Wildwood High School graduate and former cheerleader. Together, they are the proud parents of four children—two sons and two daughters.

Coach Caruthers has spent years investing in local youth through volunteer work and coaching with Pop Warner. His dedication to developing young men both on and off the field makes him an exciting addition to the Wildcat family.

🗓️ There will be a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, July 22nd at 6 PM in the WMHS Cafeteria for all current and interested football players attending WMHS.

📅 A formal opportunity for the community to meet Coach Caruthers will be shared in the near future. Let’s give him a warm Wildcat welcome!💙 🐾

Sumter County will begin a road improvement project on C 470 West from South of the Outlet River Bridge to County Road 459 (approximately 3 miles) on March 3, 2025. The contractor staked the project according to the station numbers in the construction drawings.

To ensure the safety of motorists and construction crews, lane closures will occur daily between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Flagging operations will be in place to guide traffic through the work
zone. Drivers should remain alert for changes in traffic patterns and exercise caution while traveling through the area, as heavy machinery will be in operation near the roadway.

Sumter County appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this improvement project. For updates continue to follow us on social media and visit our website at www.sumtercountyfl.gov

Now, more than ever, it's crucial to support these local enterprises. By shopping at local stores, eating at local restaurants, and using local services, we can help ensure their survival. This support not only benefits the businesses themselves but also contributes to a thriving local economy and a strong community.

Remember, every time you choose to support a small business, you're helping to preserve the unique character of your community. You're supporting your neighbors, friends, and family members who have invested their time, money, and dreams into these businesses.

So let's make a conscious effort to shop local, spread the word about our favorite small businesses, and help them weather the storm. Together, we can ensure that there will always be something left to support.
