NORTH WILDWOOD AWARDED $400,000 SMALL CITIES CDBG GRANT

Funding will enhance accessibility at the 5th Avenue Boat Ramp

North Wildwood, NJ - Mayor Salvatore T. Zampirri, Sr. is pleased to announce that the City of North Wildwood has been awarded a $400,000 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA) for improvements to Boat Ramp Park on New York Avenue between 4th and 5th Avenues.

The project will reconstruct the park’s parking lot and add Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant sidewalks, curb ramps, accessible parking spaces, and pedestrian accessways throughout the site. Boat Ramp Park includes a fishing pier, floating dock, kayak launch, boat ramps, crabbing areas, and direct access to the City’s waterways.

“This project will make one of North Wildwood’s important waterfront destinations safer and more accessible for everyone,” Zampirri said. “We appreciate the Department of Community Affairs for supporting this investment and helping us continue to improve recreational opportunities and make the City more accessible for all.”

The project builds on North Wildwood’s previous Small Cities CDBG investments in ADA improvements, including Boardwalk ramps at 15th Avenue and improvements at 22nd Avenue and the Boardwalk.

The City’s application was prepared by Triad Associates of Vineland, a community and economic development firm that has secured more than $1.8 billion in funding for its clients over the past several decades.

“We are grateful for this funding and look forward to making Boat Ramp Park more accessible and welcoming to residents and visitors of all abilities,” Zampirri concluded.
