What an absolutely fun project we got to be apart of this week!

We sold our first group of our tabletop pumpkins to a group of teachers for a fun craft project! Each kiddo got to paint their very own pumpkin, and I just got the results!

They did fantastic, don’t you think??

If you would like to do your very own painting party, I have about 150 little pumpkin that are perfect for the task!

Message me today if interested.

🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I WAS planning on not caving until the end of next month…

🫣🫣🫣I did TRY to prevent any mishaps…

😬😬😬I FAILED

Yet somehow during our nightly routine of putting the piglets back in the Billy pen, huckleberry ran past me and rendezvoused with Millie a few weeks back.

She did NOT come back in heat this week 😬

There was also a mishap with a gate overnight and huck was exposed to Louisa for about 8 hours while in heat, and was caught attempting everything in his arsenal to get to her through the fence the next day, so I allowed them together for about two hours so he’d stop trying to break his neck to make things happen. 🤦🏻‍♀️ her next heat should be 9/11, we will see if she returns or not…

Fast forward to yesterday- Huck used his Ninja skills, and about a 5 second window where I was distracted, to run past me and straight onto our doe Ginger. I gave in and set her up in his pen for the entire day, to honeymoon their hearts away. Today she was put back in, but was very much over huckleberry and all his shenanigan’s 😂

Her next heat should be 09/24/25 if she didn’t take…

Sooo I say that all to say, crap happens… and Gods plans are not always our plans. And Huckleberries plans are to cause as much chaos on this farm as possible.

Next years rut season will implement a double gate system to avoid does going in where they don’t belong, and eliminating stinky bucks squeezing past me where they also don’t belong.

Fencing will be doubled as well to prevent any fence breeding between the Billy pen and the emu paddock.

Until then, guess I’m looking at New years- late January kids ! Which I’m so thrilled about 🙄🥶

Paisley said “heck with them kids”, and ran off to have herself some alone time. Leaving em to babysit as she searched the property for the best clover patch she could locate. 💕🐽💕

She’s lucky she’s cute! And her babies are cuter.

Yesterday we dug out the pond again to get some of the old goop that accumulated at the bottom. I found two metal bows about 1 ft deep that I have been looking for in the process 😂. As soon as we were done, and started to fill up the pond, Echo was the first to sit down and splash around in the water.

It truly was a beautiful day yesterday!

I try not to use the word favorite here on the farm. But there are certain animals here that I would be crushed if something happened to them. Two of those are Gimli and Delilah.

Delilah’s parrot mouth does not stop her from living her best life. Although I do notice she has to have copper bolusing more than the others, and tends to stay a bit slimmer than the others even with free access to hay and pasture. She’s my little special needs baby and we wouldn’t trade her for anything. Heart of gold, and constantly seeking out affection, Delilah is one of a kind. 💕

Our little keeper “Mouse”. Now why would I name a potentially 200+lb pig Mouse you ask? The night Paisley delivered her babies, she showed aggression anytime her littles went near her. Doing my part I set up “barricade’s” to prevent any incidents while I attempted to get a crate from the pole barn, in the dark, by myself, at 4am. Mouse wasn’t having any of that and scrambled over every obstacle I placed in front of her. She climbed through pallet holes, over 6”wood boards, and thrust her self overtop of hay piled high. All to go straight to Paisley’s face every time🤦🏻‍♀️. I threw up the white flag, and ended up carrying Mouse with me into the darkness to dig out the metal crate one handed from the barn. Set it up, still one handed, and then placed her and her kin inside ensuring their safety.

She immediately stood out. Whether it be her sheer determination, her amazing problem solving skills, or her inconstant need to be the first one to try a new thing.

I’m excited to watch her grow, and the potential she will bring onto our homestead!

Paisleys’s piglets are just shy one week old. Which means it was the perfect time to get hands on with them and get some photos for their litter notification in AKKPS. I love how each one is so uniquely marked. No two are alike. 💕

One of y favorite parts of raising babies is watching them play! The piglets got to come out and explore this evening after work. Tons of zoomies were seen! but out of all the videos I got, this moment was my favorite. 😍😍😍

Our little doelings have grown so much this season. Some more than others ! Lilly our mini Nubian girl is the youngest at just shy of 5 months old. Yet she is taller than our little Nubian Delilah.

They have been trying out the “new” hay manger and have made it clear that I need to add a catch shelf at the bottom since they are such little wasters 😂.

Nothing shows you how you can improve something more than goats do! 🤭

💕🐽💕 daily piglet post! 💕🐽💕

It amazes me how quickly piglets can be up exploring and getting into mischief! At two days old, personalities are flourishing, ears are starting to uncurl, and they are finding their voices!

Won’t be long til mama won’t be able to keep up with all of their shenanigans 🤭
