Football
One week after beating Ozark for the first time in 21 years, the Willard High School football team traveled to number one ranked Webb City for a Central Ozark Conference showdown but fell to the Cardinals 38-21.
Sophomore Kyle Smith was 3-4 for 52 yards passing, while Robert Richmond had 166 yards on the ground with two touchdowns, Jeff Arnold rushed for 23 yards, Smith had 20 yards, Tanner Moore had 19 yards and ZaKorey Barr finished the game with three yards.
Barr and Montana Craig each had 27 yards receiving and Moore had eight yards receiving. Dominique Sherrod led Willard with 5.5 tackles, Jonny Trif had 4.5 tackles and Christian Garner had 4 tackles

Volleyball
Monday Willard loses to Rogersville 2-0 (13-25, 20-25); Tuesday Willard beats Lebanon 2-0 (25-20, 25-12)
 
Cross Country
In cross country action, Willard hosted the Willard Highline Trail Run on Thursday. 16 teams competed at the run and the girls team finished second with 46 points.
Chloe Andrews finished second for the girls in a time of 20:35, followed by Kayleigh Amstutz (10th, 23:06), Tiara Crews (12th, 23:38), Melissa Schwartz (16th, 23:55), Loren Inman (18th, 24:35), Kyndal Sloan (22nd, 25:18) and Kori Evans (29th, 25:59).
On the boys’ side Garron Schwieghardt finished third overall with a time of 17:36, followed by Justin Johnson (19th, 19:26), Holden Bridges (27th, 20:05) and Elijah Riggins (28th, 20:08)

Football: Willard defeated Ozark 55-24. This was the first time Willard had beaten Ozark in 21 years. The Tigers had 615 yards rushing in the game. Robert Richmond had 254 yards and 3 touchdowns. Hunter Yeargan had 178 yards rushing and two touchdowns..
Softball: Tuesday-Ozark 10 Willard ; Thursday-Willard 10 Branson 1. Springfield Softball Tournament: Friday-Willard 12 Glendale 8; Monett 8 Willard 3; Willard 15 Kickapoo 0; Saturday: Joplin 6 Willard 5/8 innings; Willard 8 Rogersville 0/No Hitter by Bridgett Rippee.

Cross Country: Tuesday at Nixa, Boys finished 10th, Girls finished 6th.
For the boys’ Garron Schweighardt finished eighth with a time of 16:46, followed by Justin Johnson (54th) in 18:41, Holden Bridges (66th) in 19:06, Elijah Riggins (74th) in 19:23 and Josh Petty (83rd) in 19:54.
Chloe Andrews finished sixth for the girls with a time of 19:48, she was followed by Kayleigh Amstutz (30th) in 22:03, Tiara Crews (41st) in 22:52, Melissa Swartz (44th) in 23:09, Kyndal Sloan (59th) in 24:26 and Kori Evans (66th) in 25:39.
Girls golf: Thursday, Willard Invitational-Tied for sixth place.
The team shot 432, and was led by sophomore Brooklyn Teague who finished with a 102 followed by Katie Badger (105), Brooke Mitchals (107), Morgan Johnson (118) and Carolyn Dawson (123).
Boys soccer: Tuesday-Willard 4 Republic 0; Derrick Mills 2 goals, John Delatorre and Nate Terry 1 goal; Thursday-Carl Junction 2 Willard 1, Derrick Mills 1 goal
