The big announcements from Busch Gardens Williamsburg today were obviously Verbolten: Forbidden Turn and three, new, upcoming shows (one for Christmas Town and two for next summer). That said, Kevin Limbke also provided a bevy of super interesting tidbits during a Q&A following the announcements. Here are some highlights we picked up on:
- The park is playing with ideas for a member lounge but has no immediate plans to implement one.
- The park's plan to fix the kiosk annoyances is to make more items redeemable in-app in the future.
- New flat rides are desired by park-level leadership.
- There are "exciting" 2027 plans.
- It will be a "little bit of time" before we see a new coaster.
- The park is developing a new system for speeding up the parking booth situation—work has already been done, but no imminent implemention plans yet.
- Nothing new for Water Country USA to announce at this time.
- Park-level leadership is pushing for something new in Da Vinci's Garden, but nothing solid at the moment.
- Pantheon theming could be a future opportunity.
- The park will celebrate the upcoming Das Festhaus and Killarney anniversaries.
- Ideas have been kicked around for the vacant Pet Shenanigans theater. No imminent plans, but new animal shows are on the ideas list.
- There are a couple current rides on the "target list" that could be replaced/reimagined in the years ahead.
- Concepts have been drawn up for the Mäch Tower site, but nothing is slated to take the plot immediately.
