Shannon Taylor won Tuesday’s Democratic primary for Virginia’s 1st Congressional District in a 7-person race. She will now go on to face incumbent Rep. Rob Wittman in the November general election.

The upcoming season for the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra will include a performance during which an audience member will play a game while the orchestra responds musically to the player’s actions.

The 2026-27 season will feature nine concerts and include guest performances from pianist Evren Ozel, cellist Johannes Moser and guitarist Mak Grgic.

Voters in Virginia’s 1st Congressional District will have their final chance on Tuesday to cast a vote in the Democratic or Republican primary to determine who will be on the ballot in November’s general election.

On Tuesday — election day for the dual primary — voters show up to their normal polling place to cast a ballot. Across Virginia, polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Colonial Williamsburg has named Seattle-based interior designer Heidi Caillier as its 2027 designer in residence.

Heidi Caillier Is Colonial Williamsburg’s third designer in residence. She’ll be reimagining the interior of the Charlton House.
