The Monitor is the College of William & Mary's undergraduate Journal of International Studies.

The Monitor aims to promote and publish student work that contributes a new perspective to multicultural understanding. The Monitor accepts papers that construct an argument about countries, peoples, events, non-state actors, or cultural movements outside of the United States. We use a double-blind review process to identify the most groundbreaking contributions to international studies research by undergraduates.

Join William & Mary's Journal of International Studies!

The Monitor is looking for new Associate Editors, Junior Copy Editors, and a Secretary. Associate Editors help the Journal find and publish the best undergraduate work at William & Mary. Junior Copy Editors work with Senior Copy Editors to prepare articles for publication and the Secretary attends Board meetings, takes minutes, and distributes the meeting agenda. Undergraduates from any major are encouraged to apply. Completed applications are due by 11:59pm on September 27. Submit to the Monitor's Spring 2021 Issue!

The Monitor publishes the best undergraduate work with an international focus. We have extended our deadline for submissions to our Spring 2021 Issue until February 26th. Submissions should be between 3,000-6,000 words and be sent to [email protected] as a Microsoft Word document by 11:59pm on February 26th.
