Hey everyone, I just wanted to check in and be real with you all. I didn’t release an episode last week or this week because, as I’m transitioning back into full-time work, it’s been a lot—especially with being a mom now!
I feel overwhelmed, but I want you to know how deeply passionate I am about this podcast and our mission to support domestic violence victims. If you haven’t yet, please go back and listen to Episode 53—The First Time You Said No: Boundaries After Abuse. I’m still here, and I’m still dedicated to you all. Thank you for your support, your grace, and for being part of this community. šŸ–¤

I’ve missed you all so much. šŸ–¤

After almost 3 months away, Almost Oblivious is finally back.

This season of life has looked a little different for me—full of change, growth, and learning how to navigate motherhood one day at a time. It hasn’t been perfect, but we’re doing the best we can… and I think that’s something a lot of us can relate to.

This new episode is really personal. I’m talking about stepping into new seasons of life—even when they’re scary—and how becoming a mom has completely reshaped the way I see safety, relationships, and the choices we make.

One of the biggest things on my heart right now:
Who you have children with matters more than when you have children.

If you’ve ever felt afraid to move forward—even into something good—this episode is for you.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for your patience. And thank you for continuing to be part of this community that means so much to me.

On December 30th, we welcomed our son, Elias Jack.

Did you know?
šŸ“ Pregnancy can increase the risk of domestic violence.
šŸ“ Abuse during pregnancy impacts BOTH parent and baby.
šŸ“ Nearly half of pregnancy-related homicides involve an intimate partner.
In this powerful episode of Almost Oblivious, I break down what domestic violence during pregnancy really looks like — and why awareness matters.

This may be our last episode for a short while as Baby Baker’s arrival is approaching any day now. Thank you for being here. šŸ’›

New episode is out! šŸŽ™

This week, I’m joined by Savannah from Willow & Well Counseling to talk about her journey as a survivor, a mom, and now a therapist supporting others through healing. This is a powerful, honest conversation you don’t want to miss. šŸ’œ

Before abuse becomes obvious, it becomes familiar.
In this episode, we unpack the conditioning process — the compliments, boundary pushes, guilt trips, and tiny red flags that train victims to question themselves instead of the relationship.

No Episode This Week šŸ–¤šŸ¦ƒ

Hey AO family! There won’t be a new episode this week as we’re taking some much-needed time to slow down and be with family for Thanksgiving (and recovering still from a health scare recently!)

I hope this week gives you a moment to breathe, rest, and surround yourself with people who make you feel safe and loved. We’ll be back next week with more important conversations and resources.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and gentle holiday. šŸ¤

In this rewind episode, we revisit the often overlooked reality that domestic abuse doesn’t only affect the survivor — it impacts everyone who loves them. Family and friends carry their own fear, confusion, grief, and emotional wounds as they watch someone they care about struggle. This conversation explores how abuse ripples through relationships, why those around the survivor are affected so deeply, and how healing extends beyond just one person.
