After nearly 20 years in the making, SuperVillain's Lost Album, Dreaming Gods, finally sees the light of day!

Originally written in 2006 and partially recorded during the winter of 2007 by Joe Hogan at Loho Studios in New York City's East Village, the album was left unfinished when the band came to an untimely end. The original recordings remained dormant for years before the band members reopened the project three years ago with one goal: finish the album the way it was always meant to be heard.

Over the following months, missing vocals were recorded, new layers of instrumentation were added, and the remaining guitar work was completed by original guitarist Blue Wilding, along with additional lead guitar by Steve Woodzell. Backup vocals were provided by lead singer, Morgan's sister, Zahava, and the album was ultimately mixed and mastered by AJ Tissian here at The Wave Lab, NYC.

More than a collection of songs, Dreaming Gods is a complete concept album inspired by Dune, Frank Herbert's landmark science fiction novel. Blending crushing metal with hard rock and punk influences, the music draws inspiration from Black Sabbath, Bad Brains, Slayer, and the many artists that shaped the band's sound. The album was written to be experienced from beginning to end as a single musical journey.

Dreaming Gods is available digitally on all major streaming platforms through CD Baby distribution.

Music created “wholly or in a substantial part“ by AI tools will no longer be permitted on .

In a statement published yesterday, the music distribution service announced that it would be “fortifying its mission” around AI-generated music to “Keep Bandcamp Human.”

Any use of AI to imitate artists or styles is also “strictly prohibited” as part of its “existing policies prohibiting impersonation and intellectual property infringement.”

Bandcamp has instructed users to report any music found on the platform that is suspected to have been created using AI tools, adding that it “reserves the right to remove any music on suspicion of being AI-generated.”

“With this policy, we’re putting human creativity first, and we will be sure to communicate any updates to the policy as the rapidly changing generative AI space develops,” Bandcamp said.
