Fish took a trip out to the new 106 KHQ tower, which is standing tall at 600 feet! We’re so excited to be back to full strength very soon as crew are still working. Once the antenna gets here and gets installed 106 KHQ will be back broadcasting from its original location!

UPDATE - Emmet County Sheriff's Office Announces Safe Recovery of Joey Perez

The Emmet County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce that Joey Perez has been safely located and is currently en-route back to his parents. We extend our deepest gratitude to all the first responders and agencies involved in this investigation, whose efforts were instrumental in ensuring a positive outcome.

Sheriff Matt Leirstein expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts, stating, "The collaboration between multiple entities during this investigation undoubtedly contributed to Joey being swiftly located and reunited with his family. I commend everyone involved for their exceptional hard work and dedication."

We sincerely thank the community for their vigilance and support throughout this process.

Emmet County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Assistance in Locating Missing Teen

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating 17-year-old Joey Perez, who is autistic and has been reported missing. Joey was last seen leaving the area of Boyne Highlands at approximately 1700 hours this date. He was wearing a black, red, and orange Hot Wheels shirt and dark blue jeans at the time of his disappearance.

The Sheriff’s Office urges anyone who sees Joey or has information about his whereabouts to call 911 immediately. The safety and well-being of Joey are our top priority, and we appreciate the community’s assistance in this matter.

As this investigation continues, updates and additional information will be shared with the public as they become available.

Our State's Notorious Underpass, Big Penny, got that thirst today! 🤣

Breaking News!!! Big Penny was thirsty after her latest munch and decided to wash it down with a tasty cold Bud Light!!! This truck is currently stuck within Penny's mighty jaws! A crowd has developed and onlookers are chanting "Chug, chug, chug" as Penny slurps down brew after brew. Local authorities are asking residents to steer clear of the area until the wreck has been removed. For all those keeping track that's 24 this year, and 103 since 2004. scoreboards will be updated soon!
