⚠️ URGENT: ICE STORM WARNING ⚠️

WHERE: Emmet, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Otsego, Montmorency, and Alpena Counties

WHEN: Now until 6pm tonight

Some areas have already seen significant icing today, and have the potential for up to another one tenth of an inch thru 6pm today. Winds gusting to 35mph.

Prepare for hazardous travel, and potential power outages in these areas.

Here is a rough timeline estimate for the Snow/Sleet/Freezing Rain/Rain times for Northern Michigan.

Expect delays in your morning commutes with potentially slick roads as this round of freezing rain could bring around a tenth of an inch of ice accumulations.

By late-afternoon, the entire lower peninsula should be transitioned to all rain as temperatures rise thru the day.

We wish this was a joke too.

No foolin here.

Wintery Mix returns tonight and tomorrow. 🌨️

Emmet, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Montmorency, Alpena, and Mackinac Counties are under a Winter Storm Watch from 2am-5pm on Thursday, April 2nd.

Potential for 2 inches of wet snow/sleet, along with the potential for a tenth of an inch of freezing rain for those counties. 🌧

Other counties have the chance to see some sleet, and potential freezing rain overnight into Thursday morning as well.

However, the good news is that we will be warming thru the day on Thursday, which will transition most to rain and thunderstorms by Thursday evening. ⛈

There is some Icing potential for Thursday.

Early Thursday could be a bit slick for travel, but temps will be warming thru the day, and could reach near 60 by Thursday night which should help limit some of the impacts from the potential freezing rain/ice.

Eastern UP, and straits area could see a little bit of snow as well.
