When you are engaging with a certain dynamic (energy) that is causing conflict, you don't have to understand or intellectualize why its happening. Often times, it says nothing about you, as a person, but its used more as a lesson.

You can simply decide to disengage. Thats all. No war. Source/God/Spirit will bring the same energies up to see if you're acting out of past hurts and traumas. Drop the sword. Walk away. Close the cycle. You have nothing to prove. Your peace is more important. You're ascending.

Self love is a term that has been so distorted. Most people's minds go to massages, bubble baths or a shopping spree.

I honestly wonder if its term that men understand.

We'll call it self love/respect in an effort to reach both genders. I have deep compassion for the struggles men carry silently. My work is equally as important to the masculine aspect as the feminines.

Anyway, back to what self love/respect looks like:

~Saying no.
~Understanding that FOMO is an illusion.
~Being disciplined.
~Forgiving quickly.
~Not talking about other people.
~Choosing good food, exercise & adequate
sleep.
~Taking accountability.
~Always doing the right thing without an
audience.
~Being a good steward of earth and its animal
kingdom.
~Healing your mind & spirit.
~Being diligent over who has access to you.
~Putting your cart back and never stepping
over trash.
~Loving freely.

What is the cost? FREE
How often do I do this? DAILY

Yes, a spa day and a night out with your brothers are great. These character building tips are the things nobody sees you doing, but you. You are quietly building brick by brick an internal structure that no external system can crumble.

That's power.
That's love.
That's respect.

Claim it.

Notice how there are only 3 lines? The less people you let in, the less you have to manage. This isn't meant to be pessimistic, however, in the end, most people can only count about 2-3 solid ride or die friends. That's ok. The length of time doesn't matter. It's mutual respect and reciprocity. Does everybody deserve a front row seat to your life?

~~~~~~~~Unfiltered Field Notes~~~~~~~~
For most of my life, I thought being a good person meant managing everyone else's emotions. It started as a child.
I studied people in an effort to protect myself.
I monitored the room. I watched faces. I listened to tones. I adjusted myself accordingly.
Fast forward to adult/family life.
Is my son upset?
Is my husband happy?
Is someone misunderstanding me?
Do I need to explain, soften, fix, reassure, or make it better?
I became so skilled at tracking everyone else's emotional weather that I completely lost touch with my own.
The exhausting part wasn't their emotions.
The exhausting part was believing they were my responsibility.
"Are you ok?" "What's wrong?" Constant "I love you's" to gauge emotional temperature. But more often, just silence. The constant undercurrent that I was failing at being a fantastic wife and a good mom. Left to my own thoughts and imagination that I was deeply flawed and not worthy of love without working hard for it.
It was a lie.
The day everything began to change was the day I realized:
Their feelings belong to them.
My son's frustration is his.
My husband's discomfort is his.
Someone else's disappointment is theirs.
Not because I don't care. Because I do.
But CARING and CARRYING are not the same thing.
The moment I stopped managing everyone else's inner world, I got my own life back.
I had space to heal my inner world. To recognize that how I was shown love was an illusion. A deeply ingrained falsehood that I saw played out in my lineage.
I was worthy all along.
I didn't have to prove anything.
Its easy to slip back into this and sometimes I do, but I'm learning. I forgive myself quickly and readjust.
And what I call freedom now is simply allowing other people the dignity of their own emotional experience.
Including ME.
