Hi, I'm Shelby! I am a full-time editor, author, and mother. I'm a lover of books and all of the cozy blankets. I opened my business after I had my first daughter and decided that I wanted to carve a way for my family where I could be there for my kids and my husband with more flexibility. Being a mother is the best thing that has happened to me.

Terms and Conditions

As an author myself, I understand how vital it is to get your edited manuscript back into your hands in a timely and reliable fashion. The average it takes me to complete your manuscript is 15-18 days (for a full 80K novel). I will keep you updated on the process and let you know where I am at during the wait. The deadline we discuss is guaranteed, or you receive a refund of 10% of your payment.

The industry standard is 95% accuracy for editing. We are only human, but I vow to correct any errors I see and improve your manuscript to the best of my ability. If you find my work does not meet this standard, please contact me immediately so I can make things right. It is common that some errors remain in a manuscript after a copy edit. Sometimes the author can introduce new errors while fixing the ones recommended by the editor. That is why I recommend a final proofread as the last step before publication or for you to take a look at the after-edit proofread service.

The block of time we book together is yours and yours alone. I will be taking special care to be working solely on your manuscript. That being said, it is difficult to fill a block without much notice. I am happy to reschedule when clients give the proper amount of notice. Please give me at least a week's notice if you plan on rescheduling.

Payment

Payments are accepted via PayPal only.

A deposit of 50% of the total cost is due upon acceptance of terms. The remaining 50% will be due before I will send the finished manuscript back to the author.

Editing packages are NON-REFUNDABLE. No exceptions.

*PayPal fees are added to each invoice to ensure the editor is paid the full amount for their work.

If you would like to have a consultation, I am happy to write out the invoice for you to see what you will be paying before you accept to use my services.
