Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Williston, SC " A Going Church for The Coming Lord "

In November 1881, Fairmont Baptist, later renamed Pleasant Hill Baptist , has endured seven major wars.

It has witnessed 26 Presidents. Through lean and prosperous times, the church is still a landmark for Jesus. Fundamental Beliefs

The Scriptures
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter

1:20,21; Mark 13:31; John 8:31,32; John 20:31; Acts 20:32
The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three person; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; Mark 13:31; John 8:31,32; John 20:31; Acts 20:32
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass, that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. Luke 10:21,22; Matthew 23:9; John 3:16; 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Timothy 1:1,2 & 2:5,6; 1 Peter 1:3; Revelation 1:6
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth. Matthew 1:18–25; Luke 1:26–38; John 1:1, 20:28; Romans 9:5, 8:32; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:21–23; John 20:30, 31; Matthew 20:28; Ephesians 1:4; Acts 1:11; Romans 5:6–8 & 6:9,10; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 9:28; I Timothy 3:16
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide. John 14:16,17,26 & 15:26,27; John 16:9–14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19; Galatians 5:22–26
Regeneration
We believe that man was created by God in His own image; that man sinned and thereby incurred physical, spiritual and eternal death, which is separation from God; that as a consequence, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners by choice and therefore under condemnation. We believe that those who repent and forsake sin and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become new creatures, delivered from condemnation and receive eternal life. Genesis 1:26, 5:2; Genesis 3; Genesis 2:17, 3:19; Ecclesiastes 2:11; John 3:14, 5:24; John 5:30, 7:13, 8:12, 10:26; Romans 9:22; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 19:3,20, 20:10,14 & 15, 21:18; Psalm 51:7; Jeremiah 17:9; James 1:14; Romans 3:19, 5:19; Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:9; John 3:16, John 1:13; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 8:1
The Church
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. Ephesians 2:19–22; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 5:19–21; Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:23–25
Christian Conduct
We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellow men; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions; and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ.

1 Corinthians 10:31; Romans 12:1–3; Hebrews 12:1–2; John 14:15,23-24; 1 John 2:3-6; 2 Corinthians 9:6–9; 1 Corinthians 4:2; Colossians 1:9–10
The Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:18–20; Romans 6:3–5; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
Religious Liberty
We believe that every human being has direct relations with God, and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith; that each church is independent and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority; that therefore Church and State must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other. I Timothy 2:5; Romans 14:7–9,12
The Last Things
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgement, the eternal facility of the righteous and the endless suffering of the wicked. Matthew 16:27; Mark 14:62; John 14:3; Acts 1:11; Philippians 3:20; 1 Thessalonians 4:15; 2 Timothy 4:1; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 4:5; 1 Corinthians 15; 2 Thessalonians 1:7–10; Revelation 20:4–6,11–15

When we think of Christmas and the reason for the season, we are often moved at the thought of God's love for mankind to have an invitation to experience perfect love, peace and joy. To do so in our lives, Christ was born of s virgin. John 1:14 states, " the Word became flesh and dwelt among us." ( The Manager) Secondly, the Bible states that in Isaiah Isaiah 53 , that Jesus suffered for our sins and became our atonement or payment for the sin debt owed by mankind. The Great Gospel News is that Romans 8 tells that now Nothing can separate us from the Love of God 😁. Isaiah 53:5 tells us that Jesus was wounded for our sin , He was bruised for our I quities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him : and with His stripes we are healed. " The question becomes " how can one know the " Gift of Christmas- Jesus" in their own ❤️ heart. The answer is found in Romans 10:9 , if we confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised from the dead, thou shalt be saved". Once saved, Colossians Colossians 3:15 states " And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which you were called in one body; and be Ye thankful." In short summary, you have the cradle, the Cross and the Call of the Holy Spirit to be saved.

We share because we are most thankful for the Father's love that has been shown and that others may know the Eternal
Hope of Christmas, Jesus.

Merry Christmas to all.

Let’s Rise Up Together, Barnwell County! 🌅

Starting this January, Community of Hope Ministry is stepping out in faith to launch the Rise Up Program.

In partnership with the Barnwell County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Young Rosemary Missionary Baptist Church, Golden Harvest Food Bank and hopefully many other local partners, we are hitting the streets in 2026 to find our homeless neighbors and provide them with the essentials they desperately need—food, clothing, and hygiene supplies.

We are walking by faith and not by sight, but we need our community to walk with us. We are asking all churches, ministry's, and Community to Rise Up and partner with us.

👇 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 👇 We are collecting items that many of us take for granted. Please consider donating:
• Food: Ready-to-eat meals (preferably with pop-top lids), snacks, and drinks non-perishable food.
• Warmth: Coats and blankets.
• Hygiene: Toothpaste, soap, towelettes, combs, and other basics.

📍 DROP OFF LOCATION: 4761 Charleston Highway Williston, SC 29853

As we say goodbye to Thanksgiving Day, our hearts remain full of gratitude. We look ahead to the celebration of the greatest gift ever given to mankind and how fitting it is to begin this special season by considering what we can also give in return.

"What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him: give my heart."

Thank you, Jesus, for the sacrifice of your gift.
Take my heart and make it your own.

Sweet Blessings This Night To All~
Sherry ♥️

Awesome Thought to Ponder and Pass On!!

A father said to his daughter “You have graduated with honors, here is a car I bought many years ago. It is a bit older now. But before I give it to you, take it to the used car lot downtown and tell them I want to sell it and see how much they offer you for it.

The daughter went to the used car lot, returned to her father and said, “They offered me $1,000 because the said it looks pretty worn out.”

The father said, now “Take it to the pawn shop.” The daughter went to the pawn shop, returned to her father and said,”The pawn shop offered only $100 because it is an old car.”

The father asked his daughter to go to a car club now and show them the car. The daughter then took the car to the club, returned and told her father,” Some people in the club offered $100,000 for it because it’s a Nissan Skyline R34, it's an iconic car and sought by many collectors”

Now the father said this to his daughter, “The right place values you the right way,” If you are not valued, do not be angry, it means you are in the wrong place. Those who know your value are those who appreciate you......Never stay in a place where no one sees your value.

Dont force yourself to stay where you are not regarded....
Stay where you are appreciated.

God over everything 🍷

Borrowed from a friend's post . . .

Shoes in Church

I showered and shaved
I adjusted my tie.
I got there and sat
In a pew just in time.

Bowing my head in prayer
As I closed my eyes.
I saw the shoe of the man next to me
Touching my own. I sighed.

With plenty of room on either side
I thought, 'Why must our soles touch?'
It bothered me, his shoe touching mine
But it didn't bother him much.

A prayer began: 'Our Father'
I thought,
'This man with the shoes, has no pride.
They’re dusty, worn, and scratched.
Even worse, there are holes on the side!'

'Thank You for blessings,' the prayer went on. The shoe man said
A quiet 'Amen.'
I tried to focus on the prayer
But my thoughts were on his shoes again.

Aren't we supposed to look our best. When walking through that door?
'Well, this certainly isn't it,' I thought, glancing toward the floor.

Then the prayer was ended
And the songs of praise began.
The shoe man was certainly loud. Sounding proud as he sang.

His voice lifted the rafters
His hands were raised high.
The Lord could surely hear.. The shoe man's voice from the sky.

It was time for the offering
And what I threw in was steep.
I watched as the shoe man reached. Into his pockets so deep.

I saw what was pulled out
What the shoe man put in.
Then I heard a soft 'clink' as when silver hits tin.

The sermon really bored me
To tears, and that's no lie.
It was the same for the shoe man.
For tears fell from his eyes.

At the end of the service.
As is the custom here.
We must greet new visitors,
And show them all good cheer.

But I felt moved somehow
And wanted to meet the shoe man.
So after the closing prayer
I reached over and shook his hand.

He was old and his skin was dark
And his hair was truly a mess
But I thanked him for coming
For being our guest.

He said, 'My name’s Charlie
I'm glad to meet you, my friend.'
There were tears in his eyes
But he had a large, wide grin..

'Let me explain,' he said
Wiping tears from his eyes.
'I've been coming here for months
And you're the first to say 'Hi.''

'I know that my appearance
Is not like all the rest.
'But I really do try
To always look my best.'

'I always clean and polish my shoes
Before my very long walk.'
'But by the time I get here
They're dirty and dusty, like chalk.'

My heart filled with pain
And I swallowed to hide my tears.
As he continued to apologize
For daring to sit so near

He said, 'When I get here
I know I must look a sight.'
'But I thought if I could touch you
Then maybe our souls might unite.'

I was silent for a moment
Knowing whatever was said
Would pale in comparison
I spoke from my heart, not my head.

'Oh, you've touched me,' I said
'And taught me, in part'
'That the best of any man
Is what is found in his heart.'

The rest, I thought,
This shoe man will never know.
Like just how thankful I really am
That his dirty old shoe touched my soul.
