I have to tell myself every day, my kids, my dogs.

We can do hard things!!!

The sense of accomplishment with those hard things become easy is what we strive for!

It builds us up!

✨ Here’s what Jenny has to say:

“We recently completed a 6-week dog training program for our reactive dog, and I truly couldn’t be happier with the results.

Jo was incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable throughout the entire process.

This made us feel comfortable, supported, and confident every step of the way!

Our dog has made amazing progress, and the difference at home has been life-changing.

We’re all so much less stressed, and everyday situations feel far more manageable now.

The training techniques were easy to understand and worked well for both us and our dog.

Jo was also super responsive to texts, always happy to get updates, and quick to answer any questions I had along the way.

I would absolutely recommend this program to anyone looking for dog training, whether it’s basic obedience or help with behavioral challenges.

It was 100% worth it.”

Our GRC coach and mentor Jamie said I had a great problem!

There’s more than one way to skin a cat, or so the saying goes.”

The same applies to dog training.

No trainer should ever be shamed for seeking education, growth, or different learning opportunities. The value of education isn’t determined by outside judgment; it’s determined by what the individual takes from it and how they apply it.

Hands-on experience matters.
Learning to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and grow within your field is how you develop real skills, regardless of your profession.

The reality is that when you’re visible, people will have opinions.

Some will judge what you’re doing, how you’re doing it, and whether they agree with it.

That doesn’t mean you’re wrong.

A few months ago, I was told my dog had too much ambition for the slat mill. I was told I wouldn’t be able to train a reliable “easy.” I was told I was approaching my training backwards.

Yet here we are.

We’ve achieved the goals we set for ourselves, not because someone told us the “right” way to do it, but because we found a way that worked for us and, most importantly, worked for my dog.

That’s the beauty of being a dog trainer. It’s not about forcing every dog into the same mold. It’s about troubleshooting, adapting, and figuring out what the dog in front of you needs.

The same goes for working with people. You won’t always agree with everyone. You won’t always like everyone.

If the goal is to help the dog and support the human on the other end of the leash, that’s what matters.

As long as dogs aren’t being harmed and aren’t suffering in the process, there should be room for different approaches, different experiences, and different paths to success.

Growth happens when we stay open-minded enough to learn, not when we spend our time tearing each other down.

Experience matters.

Like we tell our clients:

“Get out of the dogs way.”

Why E-Collar Train?

This picture says it all. 👇

Sometimes our dogs make decisions that put them in danger.

Fig got a little to close with a porcupine. One wrong choice led to a painful lesson, an emergency vet visit, and hundreds of dollars in treatment.

When people hear “e-collar training,” they often think it’s about punishment.

It’s not.

For us, e-collar training is about communication, reliability, and safety.

It’s about having a way to reach your dog when:
✔️ They’re chasing wildlife
✔️ They’re fixated on a distraction
✔️ They’re about to make a bad decision
✔️ Their safety is on the line

We cannot train against every scenario and well prey drive kicks in.

Dogs don’t come into this world knowing how to make safe choices. That’s our job to teach.

We need to give them the skills, understanding, and accountability needed to safely enjoy more of life.

Sometimes that training is the difference between a close call and a tragedy.

Train for the moments you hope never happen.

Poor Fig!

He is indeed doing well and we just finsihed lesson two of his ecollar training.

What’s the worst thing that has attacked your dog?!
