One of our favorite hiking essentials isnโ€™t a piece of gearโ€ฆ itโ€™s a book. ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ“–

I almost always carry my mushroom field guide with me on the trail because you never know what tiny treasures youโ€™ll come across. Itโ€™s so much fun stopping for a few minutes to identify different mushrooms and learn a little more about the forest around us.

Itโ€™s completely changed the way I hike. Instead of rushing to the next overlook, I find myself paying attention to all the little things I used to walk right past.

๐Ÿ„ Does anyone else carry a field guide while they hike? Birds, wildflowers, mushrooms, trees. Weโ€™d love to know what youโ€™re always on the lookout for!

Iโ€™ll admit itโ€ฆ I was a little hesitant to order the octopus. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜…

But after one bite, it ended up being one of the best meals I had during our trip to Belize. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor. Itโ€™s one of those dishes Iโ€™m still thinking about long after coming home.

Travel has definitely pushed us to try foods we never wouldโ€™ve ordered otherwise and this one was 100% worth it.
